  1. Can I have Jimmy's contact please? Or if anyone can post it on the forum?
  2. You read too much, good luck means good luck and hope he has learnt his lesson and be nice after my complaint.
  3. Hi, We are in the midst of sourcing for an id for our place. Shortlisted a few already. We came acrossed this firm today via word of mouth. I hope to see some review of this firm, anyone of you engaged their service? I have seen their work and their designs are quite impressive.I have met up with one of the ID Douglas, he is very sincere and so far we are quite happy with his service. However we did a search here and did not find any review in this section. Would appreciate any feedback, thanks!
  4. Hi Defelio, I tried sending u a PM but it doesn't work, perhaps your PM is full. I am considering using your ID, may I know if there is anything I have to take note of? Is he responsive? How is the workmanship of his carpentry works, electrical, paintings and tiling? So far how was the experience? Any unhappiness to share? Would u highly recommend him? How is his charges compared to the others who have quoted u? Sorry for so many questions haha, but would like to be sure before I take my pick You can PM me instead, thanks alot!
  5. Have received summit quotation, very reasonably priced and in fact it is the cheapest. May need to requote again as there were changes to our requirement and design. On the other hand we felt has been too busy after his wife gave birth, so not sure if he still want our business since our reno is not a "big" one. Dun want to pressure him to take up our project also lah.. Shall see how..So far his service is not bad. Would highly recommend him!
  6. Then perhaps Peter is even more ex! Now that u know his attitude, be prepared to let him chop.
  7. The last and one and only Reply from ideal house admin. After that no sound no picture. Dear Rachel, My sincere apologies on your bad experiences, we will have our own internal invistigation regards to the u/m matters, meanwhile, u may want to consider contacting kenneth directly at 8522 7653. Best regards I-deal house Pte Ltd
  8. HI Darren,

CAn I have your email add as I need you to quote for my balcony and a feature wall according to my floorplan? Thks!

  9. Irene's service is really tip top! Even though we have not signed and she think that we may not sign, she still called and follow up to see if we need help in designing since we told her we will be designing on our own and seek contractors quotation. I really felt very comfortable talking to her and she gave good advises on what we proposed. She is more like a friend now to me and I will definitely recommend friends and relative who needs a designer for their homes. I trust that she can do a good job. Thumbs up!
  10. SHortlisted Defong's Jeremy based on the general good comments on them. We are looking for a contractor to do exactly want we want hence it doesn't really matter if he has ideas or designs or not. We need someone who can provide practical advises when we present our ideas to him. We will be presenting him our handwritten 3D designs (My hubby can draw lol) and ask him to do accordingly if we decided to get him. Our first impresson of him is that he is a super experienced and very down to earth guy! Whenever we present an idea to him, he will provide advises such as the pro and cons and whether it is practical. We were quite impressed by a point which he had pointed out to us, an idea we wanted which may pose potential hazard to us. No contractor or id has noticed this so far. Now our only concern is workmanship since quality should be similar across the board since all contractors are using plywood and laminates. So far all reviews are positive on the workmanship aspects, anything that I should know, please advise. Waitng for his quotation now, will compare it with another highly recommended contractor's quote
  11. Just an update. Met Irene for 2nd meetup to see 3D image and quotation. So far Irene has been very sincere and we really like her service. One thing to note, Intradesign is an Id firm, not contractor. So if you are someone who lacks design ideas and would like your id to design from scratch and you choose whether u like the design or not, this is the company you should be looking at. On the other hand, if you already have your own ideas in mind and would like to get an id to do what YOU want including the materials, designs etc, you should go to a contractor instead. There is also no point comparing intra's quote with a contractor's quote becos it is definitely going to be VERY different becos intra will incorporate their design ideas plus what material they think is suitable for their ideas hence the quotation will be quote purely based on that. My take is, unless you really LOVE their design, go for it and pay more. I think Irene's design is actually very good, especially if one has totally no design ideas on mind. But for us, it is somewhat different from our expectations. We expected her to follow what we specify on our first meetup and improve on it. Irene's design is very different from what we have told her. Due to fengshui reasons (eg. certain walls we insist on full mirror left right, top to bottom), our design is quite restricted and we already know what we want exactly and most likely want her to follow exactly what we want, but that again defeats the purpose of an id already since we would be the one providing the designs and maybe some advise from her here and there. The contractors we shortlisted quoted us according to our specifications and it is much cheaper than what Irene has quoted based on her designs and specifications. Nevertheless, it is not an apple-to-apple comparison because of differences in materials, designs, services, etc. In the end after much discussion, we will mostly likely draw our own handwritten 3D design and get our contractor to do exactly what we want in terms of designs and materials. Meanwhile we will get another quote from another well recommended contractor to compare.
  12. Thanks to those who shared *** contact on this forum, I managed to get hold of him yesterday. He was in Expo when I called, I wanted to meet him in Expo but he arranged to meet up at his office instead knowing that it will be difficult for us to get parking lots in Expo due to the massive crowd. He came back to his office all the way just to meet us and went back to expo after that. I think that this is very considerate of him. So far my impression of him is very good and he came acrossed as a sincere and patient guy. But I think he forgot to give us his namecard haha...Now waiting for his quotation. After some research in the beginning, I have shortlisted 4 Ids including Summit design, one of which is ideal house. Ideal House is now out due to the poor attitude of the Id, which I have already lodge a complaint to their boss as well as in this forum. They want to do free for me I also dun want.
  13. We wanted Dave and Angeline to do our reno, but both of them were not around when we visited, so we talked to Irene, so far she appeared to be quite sincere. No impressive ideas given yet maybe due to first meetup and she hasn't digest our floorplan. We actually have our own ideas already, but we are also hoping to see if she can contribute something on our next meetup. Was told that quotation will be out in two weeks time. Hopefully it is reasonable and not way overpriced as compared to other ids. My place will TOP in Jan so no hurry yet. Meanwhile have been to Ideal House, super bad experience so it is out. M going to shortlist a few ids for comparison. Will update again:)
  14. I have just sent an email attention to the boss of Ideal house. I am not sure if the boss will get to see it at all, but nevertheless, I just wish to share my experience with all of you so that your time will not be wasted like mine.

  16. Hi all, just to share my terrible experience with ideal house and to rant it out a little. After reading thru the threads, I called Ideal to look for Mr K. Peter Tan answered and told me that Mr K is not around.I checked out Peter in this forum and read that he is not bad even tho he is not in the top list like steven and Mr k. In the end I decided to meetup with him. He asked me to go down to his office to meet him. Hubby and I drove all the way to serangoon. Upon meeting him, I showed him our floor plan. We wanted to do up our newly toped penthouse unit. We can feel his disappointment when he knew that ours is a new project as he commented that for new projects most of the things are already done up. We just need to do some carpentry. When we are discussing, he looked totally UNINTERESTED. Both me and hubby felt awkward. He asked if we wanted to do the store racks and wood decking for our roof and balcony, we told him we have direct contacts for these already. He looked pissed, but admitted that going direct is definitely cheaper. To us, these are things that not worth asking an ID to take over. All we wanted to do is capentry, whole house false ceilings and repainting, We wanted alot of carpentry to be done. We even have our ideas ready, he don't even need to crack his head for ideas. All we want is a quotation and maybe some advise if our ideas are ok. Before he even proceeded, he asked us for our budget for a particular room, the study room. Both of us were stunned. Honestly speaking, since we bought an expensive penthouse, we wanted the everything the best and DO NOT want to compromise quality with cost. On the other hand, we do not want to be chop carrots. We didn't answer his question immediately becos budget is not a concern for us at all and as layman, we obviously do not have the technical-know-how to state our budget for a particular room. Reno cost is never a concern as we have ready cash from sale of another property at a huge profit. While we were still pondering how to answer Peter's question on budget for our study room, Peter stood up and said he would ask someone else to handle the reno for us instead and he walked out of the firm leaving us behind feeling so awkward. 3 mins later, he returned and said no one was around to help me. He gave me sean and steven's namecard and asked us to go to them. I requested for Mr K, he said that Mr k is like him, very busy and not cheap, he said the other ids are cheaper and suggested that we go to them. We felt so insulted. They are all under the same company, shouldn't pricing policy be equal? We were quite nice thru out despite his hostility. He went on to elaborate that in Ideal House, different designers had different working styles. Ermm...what did he mean by that? I supposed he meant that some designers are not as "famous", will take up any client and will fight for lower pricings for them; on the other hand, some designers think they are "big shots", only work for high-rolling clients, and will chop them like carrots. It seems to me that Peter belongs to the latter category. He also added that he was very busy with many other clients and had to rush some work. Well, in that case, why did he arrange to meet us in the first place? He made us went all the way to his office, to speak to him for less than 10 mins, and then he started to "brush us away". As customers, our time is definitely more precious than his. May I sarcastically suggest that he should have asked customers for their reno budget over the phone before deciding whether to meet them, instead of wasting customers' time? We felt that we were being "shoved out" of the firm. We were so pissed. How can a service industry do this to their customers? I went down to intradsign to meet Irene after that, she is more sincere and they have a proper pricing system. I do not want to be carrots to those unethical id firms like ideal design.

  18. I actually shortlisted them due to their 8 yrs warranty gimmicks. Ok, 1 id off the list... Now M considering idea house and intradesign. Have used Ho Bee, service from the boss not bad, but ever since the wife took over, big NO NO for me anymore.
  19. My second property will be ready in Aug this year. My first property was done by Patrick from Ho Bee, I am very pleased with Patrick and was quite bent on getting him to do our second house. But Patrick is too busy to pick up my calls and the calls are always transfered to his wife, which I do not have good experience dealing with. Knowing that Mrs Quek will be the one liasing with me and not Patrick, I am contemplating to give ideal house a chance. Hopefully Ideal house live up to our expectations. Maybe after comparing both, I can give a verdict of who is better, and then the winner will be the one doing our third property in 3 years time:) Would it be too early to engage them with our floorplan since our unit will only TOP in aug?
