Hi guys, I recently installed a Fanco FFM4000 with light kit. When the fan rotates, even at the lowest speed, there seem to be an uneven slight wobble. The light kit doesn't moves at all though. It seems like the part that rotates is "waving" slightly. I was wondering if this is normal for this fan model. Any advice?

Hi guys, Last month, my solid surface top came and I was there when the contractor brought it in It's an L shape and as the contractor with his workers were installing it, the L joint snapped He got all panicky and started to rectify I called my ID and he said he will change a new piece for me unknowingly, I returned a few days later and couldn't see the crack thus, I assumed it is a new piece, as I didn't t see the joint which cracked The cooker hob has been installed and as a good gesture to prevent the dust from getting to the hob, the hob has been covered by the cardboard box Last week, as I had a bit of time, I decided to give the top a good scrub To my horror, I discovered the patchy corner which clearly indicates it's still the old cracked piece I was annoyed that my ID claimed that it has been changed when it obviously isn't I called him and he said he will get the contractor to come in to polish it up THEN, I removed the cardboard to clean the hob and to my horror again, I discovered that there is a line by the side which obviously, when they were cutting the hole to fit the hob, they have accidentally overshot the cut I decided I've had enough No way am I gonna accept this I called my ID and he said the contractor refuses to change for us insists that the over cut line can be patched back and that the corner crack which he repaired definitely can last he also said this kind of repairs is common I thank God I've yet to hand over the flat Now I am going to check every corner to ensure everything is in place Tomorrow, I am going to meet the contractor with my ID I was just wondering what consumer rights do I hold at this point What do you guys think? Do I have the right to insist to change a new one? I am just worried for the weak L joint whether it can withstand heavy items, and whether it will last a long time I paid 4 figured sum for this slab, I'm kinda refusing to budge if they insist on repair What should I do if they insist on repairing? p.s. The ID is from one of the popular firms on this forum. I shall see what is their course of action. And then if things turn for the worse, I won't hesitate to flame

hey guys, I understand regarding paint, when wet looks dull, but it's nothing like it anyway, I met up with the painter boss One look and smell and he knew that the paint has gone bad He has kindly disposed of the bad paint and have offered to repaint the affected walls with a fresh can The first layer is up and it's a stark difference, now it's beautiful, just like when they first painted the 1st layer the first time Thanks to all who advised! Cheers, Zhong

Yes i understand it has smell But it is starkly different from the first layer, and it's only that room (with that particular shade) that has that smell it smells like a football player's jersey that has not been washed for weeks! I'm sure paint don't smell like that!

Recently my ID did a 2nd layer after the 1st layer of paint our original colour is a beautiful purplish colour but now we noticed that the 2nd layer is bluish it is very evident because at the corner edge, I still can see the some fine lines of the 1st layer purple my ID and painter insists that it's the same colour it does not make sense to me as well how can the 2nd layer be a lighter/different shade from the 1st layer. I suspect that the paint probably got mixed with different shades oh yes, the 2nd layer STINKS mine is the odourless, but after it was painted, it smelled like bread gone bad Does paint go bad? Is it possible that the 2nd layer be a lighter/different shade from the 1st?

zhong replied to zhong's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
just an update I just did my chemical wash for my house and did a closer inspection with my wife we found at least 60 hollow sounding areas, giving a benefit of a doubt, min. easily 30 for JUST the masterbedroom alone. we decided not to check the other 2 rooms as we expect it to be similar. there are some that even creaks when i walk over them.. 2nd inspection, my ID was there as I was not able to take leave still refuse to change, insist on filling with glue we told our ID that we are not going to accept that... the HDB fella say will go back discuss then let us know this is becoming absurb.... -
Hdb Replaced Miscoloured Tiles For Me - What Should I Do?
zhong replied to zhong's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
Hi all, The HDB estate manager came over today and did a joint inspection For the hollow tiles at the corner, he suggested drilling a hole and fill up with glue beneath which should suffice as for the off colour tile, he said he would change a parquet of a more similar tone, but as it is a single rectified piece, the perimeter of the parquet would have a slightly larger filled gap, meaning they have to cut the parquet slightly smaller to replace that off color one so to allow it to fit in Any views on the above rectification? I am not too sure about the drilled parquet to fill with glue part -
Hi guys, I have just acquired a new 5 room premium flat and have found some chipped parquet I notified the service centre and HDB sent someone to replace the chipped tile To my horror, I realised that the tile colour is very OFF The picture speaks for itself I notified the service centre person again and he said that nothing can be done about it and he flatly refused to do anything about it. Disclaimer: I am not extremely anal as I understand that the original tiles has been laid quite some time back, but I believe this is too drastic a colour tone difference to overlook Please advise what I can do about this Thanks, Zhong
