Put your foot down. If you ahve a written agreement on dates which the seller shld move out etc then all the better. Push for the 2nd appt on 1 Sept as you plan. If they can't be flexible then why should you? Also it's not your problem if they want to do this and that and require a longer than necessary extension.

Ideal House Id

Good luck and don't get conned or pressurised to sign up for anything. Take it as an info gathering exercise. I'm sure you will be bombarded with the "we will absorb 7%GST only if you sign today". -
Good friend of mine is an Alfa freak. Loves the car. Too bad both him and the car spend a lot of time in the workshop on gear box issues. I bet his mechanic loves him tobits for the monthly repeat business. Not forgetting the tow truck driver too He has a 156 and looking to upgrade to a 159.

Hey thanks. Looks good the kitchen. Frustrated wih the size though. In '04 we did an open concept kitchen with bar top. Not smart given the nature of Asian cooking + 2 hyper kids. Closed up kitchen this Mar. Hall now not so bright. Thinking of buying bigger flat but canned the idea. Ridiculous prices and more importantly the loc at St 32 is fantastic. I think of it as semi private - only 4 blocks at our plac

I'm aso at St 32. Val for 10 flr and above start around 450K (i'm told). I bought my place 4 yrs ago at 317K 5 room at walk-in. Exact same layout. Little devil cld you post pics of your kitchen. I want to re-do mine but thinking of how to optimise the minimal space available. Tks.

Pls do share which ID firm you work for so I make it a point not to waste my time or money setting foot in your set-up. What a poor service attitude. You think your customers owe you a living? reno is highly competitive. It's a big ticket item in terms of investment. Customers have a right to explore and choose who the want to spend their dollar on. If you are not interested in the business many other IDs are hungry for it. I know a few IDs who are willing to do color 3D drawing, quotations etc wihout obligation. Obviously these are ID who have skills to pay the bill. If you want office hour work, go get a 9-6pm job at the office, stay away from services. Don't be so dramatic. Comes with the territory. If you can't deal with it then change career. You expect people to sign up with you without you putting in time and effort? Someone's gonna blow 30-50K without expecting to see 'life' projects, drawings etc? Pls dun look down on contractors. Some IDs I have met can't walk and chew gum at the same time. Most design ideas anyway in mags, forums etc. Nothing special. Pls come down from your high horse.

Tau Interior
JCase replied to a topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
Thanks sugermeg. I will check with Tao when I am ready to do up the kitchen. I did check with my former ID and she sugested that the Blum system will cost an additional $800-1K. I don't mind sacrificing some other carpentary work as I think that storage and layout of the kitchen is very impt. The kitche in AMK 5 RM (110sqm) is tiny and any space saver is most welcome. We reno-ed our place 4 yrs ago when we bought it. So homo tiles built in wardrode in MBR and son's room all in place. Only need bulit-in wardrobe for our daughter's room and maybe a study module cum bookcase for one of the kids rooms. We plan to re-do kitchen and both toilets, repaint and get some new furniture. -

Anyone know if they are able to do Blum kitchen system? -
I just went this am to get an idea. 15ft + Innorech system + solid surface top =$5.1k They tried to entice me, sign up now and we absorb GST. I think I will go back to my former ID and see how much to re-do entire kitchen + Blum system.

Re-sale Vs Buying From Hdb
JCase replied to Sheila Ong's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
Can't complain. Was very, very lucky with the flat. Nice area, only 4 blks in our so called area. Just saw some of the recent transacted prices of EA at Bishan and AMK Guess we will stay put for the next 5-7 yrs. Not paying 5% cash for re-sale + COV + agent comm. No way. Rather I take a reno loan of 30K and re-do the place -
Search For Dream Home Turns Into Nightmare
JCase replied to MaCe's topic in Men Women Kopitiam Corner!
It is a good investment provided you bought at at the right price. Let go also then what? Most likely have to downgrade. Agree but I think that's cutting it very thin especially with volatile economy. Doesn't leave much for semi-comfortable retirement. -

Cash Over Value (poll)
JCase replied to Starscream's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
I doubt they will do anything but it's hardship for many people. A lot of the flats being transacted at 600-700+ K are bought largely by en-bloc instant millionaires. Farrer Ct residents received abt 2.3m p/hsehold. FC is abt 1600sqf. Like for like, 2M cannot buy a similar size property in same locality so they move to HDB. Hot areas Bt Mearh, Tiong Bahru, Queensway etc. Jialat but this is the situation. I realised when buying re-sale you hopefully shld buy from a youngish couple/family who are upgrading. Chances are the flat wld be in better condition. (purely speculative on my part). Patience is key. -
Yep, my car is a Honda Stream. Dunno how to post pics....yet. Will post when I figure it out
