went there at 3pm plus expecting to just walk through the place and come out. ended up spending 4hrs there talking to bridal boutique and IDs. Some firms doing exhibition: Summit Plush Red Dot ***** Design ***** ****** Unimax and quite a few more There are also a few shops selling furnitures and air cons and other interior design stuff. -
As I have a limited budget, I will not be engaging any FSM to do FS for my new house. However, since there is a free service provided by Mr Chong in this forum, I would like to loan or buy a compass to do some readings myself so I can post and ask for advice. Anyone has a used compass to loan or sell to me? Or anyone knows where I can get a decent but cheap compass? I live in the east side so preferably somewhere near. Advice appreciated.

Looks like patrick is really busy. sent them a mail more than 2 weeks ago with my floorplan and my requirements. wondering if they missed my mail or if the mail got lost in space, i resent it last week. patrick wife finally replied and said patrick is busy so gotta wait. now still no quote. lol -
oh hmmm my house haven even first appt. lol. but i already started sourcing for quotes and IDs. maybe can use ur kitchen as a benchmark reference to show my ID next time if u dun mind. not to copy urs la but to use as reference in terms of color scheme. haha i also notice some hobs got inner flame and they are more expensive but also dunno whats the use leh... wah price increase liao huh... sad... think by the time i start buying my house furnishing and accessories will be even more expensive... stupid prices keep rising.... sian. is it common for ID to bring homemakers to go shopping? it would be great if my ID would bring me to shopping so he can tell me what to look out for. just scared later he bring to the shop he got commission one so end up we are the carrots... cos shop will raise price to cover for the commission...
-
hi... nice kitchen u got there. i want mine to be something like yours understand that ur hob is inner flame... what advantages does inner flame give huh? and where did u buy ur hob+hood set?
-
maybe can ask the ID to help think of some 'design' over on the joint lines. like instead of putting the 2 laminate side by side, put a stripe of mirror/ black mirror/ other color laminate which hopefully can add some form of 'style' to it? else got join line just like that will look **** obvious?
-
haha i also find it weird so end up have to just go for all homogeneous which will cost a bomb.
-
haiz my WTB very scared of this and that one so she die die dun wan laminate in our bedroom. but do homo for master + living then laminate for 2 other rooms will be **** weird right? sometimes i also dunno how. weighing budget vs looks vs practical. we only have so much money but we have so many requirements... haizzz headacheeeee

that one is average figure. cos the few bosses, ceos, ministers and whatnots increase pay by 700% while we normal singaporeans pay reduced by 1%. so end up the average is 7% lor haha

not sure but i think the horizontal pillar u talking about is used to block the sun for windows that have direct morning/evening sun. its not for decorative purposes.
-
hi for the citygas dryer. need to pay more for the wall mounting / installation? or just buy the dryer and everything included?
-
on a side note, wii can make 'region free' if u get my drift
-
ok thanks for the info. will take note of this
-
'normal' instant heaters usually dont require any hot/cold piping. u just adjust the temp and turn on the shower attached to it. so the citygas one is not a storage heater in the sense it does not store water but it requires hot and cold piping huh?
-
any one knows if this 'instant heater' thingy works like a normal instant heater or like a storage heater? do we need to run hot and cold pipes or just cold piping? must install in open area since its gas operated? i scared if i choose this then cant install in common bathroom and need to run pipes into my kitchen or something... then the thing will stick out like a sore thumb

Wii is a 'party console'. the game library more meant for kids or when u have a lot of ppl playing together. its graphics is the 'worst' and around the same level as a ps2 console. xbox360 has the best library IMO and the online experience is definitely the best (but need to pay subscription). games are also easier to get and cheaper than ps3 games. HD-DVD support was a plus point but bluray has won the format wars. however, do be aware of the famous RROD problem. 3yrs warranty for that tho so no complaints. ps3 has 'superior' graphics but not many game developers utilizing it fully especially when the games are developed to be multi-platform. games are expensive but some highly anticipated exclusive games release to come in the future. easiest the cheapest and best bluray player out in the market. Online gaming is still very low on standard but no subscriptions My advice, Wii: If you have a few kids or always have a lot of visitors, Wii will be good and fun. It's more of a 'family' console for very very casual gamers PS3: If you intend/want to watch bluray. Or if you are crazy about games like MGS4 or final fantasy or other ps3 exclusives. Xbox360: if you don't fall into any of the above 'categories' i suggest xbox360.

i found some online articles stating that laminate will have problems if u leave pools of water on it over long periods of time. so i guess i have the answer for the laminate flooring.... now anyone has any idea about white homo tiles? do they stain easily? particularly by dog pee?
-
We will be keeping 2 dogs with us in the future but due to budget constraint, we are considering doing laminate flooring for the 3x bedrooms in our 4 room flat. anyone keeps dogs and have laminate floorings? any problems if they dogs pee on the laminate floor? yes i know we should train the dogs but mistakes happens and they might not be familiar with where to pee in the new house after we move in. they currently know that they should only pee in the yard or in our toilet but we're afraid it may take some time to retrain them in the new environment.... also, we're thinking of using white homo tiles for our flooring, are homo tiles easy to stain? same thing here.. afraid of dogs pee staining the tiles. any advice is appreciated.

hehe nice. any floorplan layout for reference. we are thinking of using the ex storeroom area as dining. where u gonna place ur TV console or feature wall?
