  1. ya agree the floor really wasted leh... as for the think blocking the window, i think its cos of ur window facing west, its meant to block out evening sun...
  2. i also dunno. me and wtb are eager to move in quickly so as to ease on problems traveling to work. in fact, we were thinking of moving in during the reno. not sure how to arrange but maybe can ask them to finish up the flooring and painting for one of the rooms first then we can move in liao. we only at home during evenings anyway and morning we'll be out for work. as for roy... i also a bit sian liao... i more or less know he is good from the all the recommendations... but he is so busy he can't even meet me for discussion... he wanted to bring me to a tampines flat during the canceled sunday appointment but he said no carpentry... it might be yours redknapp39... hehe. i'll try to keep track of ur reno then i can arrange for him to bring me up when there's some carpentry done... now another headache. it seems tau is a lil dubious when it comes to forum posts and recommendations... headache headache!!!!
  3. wow u used sketchup to draw all that? i using sketchup also but dunno how to make the textures so nice. also alot of things like window heights, door size etc i dunno whats the measurements. also dunno where got ceiling beam etc etc... so hard to draw....
  4. hi jessie. read that u have a friend doing photography? im looking for photographer for my ROM. would you mind passing me his contact and around how much he charge? also, interested to see your quote for your reno by zhiseng. anyway u can post or send me a copy? cos right now we reducing more and more things for our reno liao so we thinking maybe just get a 'contractor' to do can liao...
  5. I think i can help Mr chong answer you. Read the pinned post. He can't give you proper advice if u dun give compass readings.
  6. Some updates. We went to visit the Aerogaz showroom on Saturday. Not bad, the sales rep (Jacky) quite friendly even tho we told them we just looking. Today confirm won't commit/buy anything one. He also showed us the quality of their hobs by dropping heavy metallic stuff onto the glass/mirror surface and they won't crack or scratch. Got one hood was able to suck a very heavy wooden plank and hold it there... Was offered a pretty decent price for hob and hood combi. cant find the exact pic for hood in their online catalog cos its the latest model... w 1000m/hr extraction, LED lights. he even placed a pot cover made of glass and let the suction hold the cover up... quite impressive. and the induction 2 cooker hob. There were also some other stuff like rice cookers, air pots, vacuum and other household items there. All pretty cheap compared to outside brands. Just a lil concerned about the quality since Aerogaz isn't exactly a well known brand to me... We also eyeing a standing fan which is like those in coffeeshops and blows moisture... just need to top up a small compartment with water for it to work. my gf likes it cos the moisture will be good for her dry skin. also will save electricity if its cool enough then no need to on air con so much. my gf used to have a machine that just releases moisture into the air, this will serve as a 2-in-1 humidifier + fan. lol Sunday noon was supposed to meet Roy (Inzen) and Edwin (Unimax). Roy smsed me in the morning to say he needed to postpone from 12 to 130pm but i couldn't make it cos i made an appt with Edwin at 2pm... Sigh... Really very very difficult to get him leh... my gf also think if he is too busy to even meet us, next time will he be too busy to do our project properly? As for Unimax, we discussed some things but mainly on pricing. Cos they blew my budget and some more got GST... So I asked him to review it and reduce it to try to fit my budget. Also noted that he missed out some of the things we specifically asked him to include like changing of rubbish chute, glass door for kitchen and sealing up of ventilation on top of doors. One thing special about unimax however is that they showed us 3D drawings of our living and kitchen even tho we're not confirmed yet.
  7. heh supposed to meet him sunday but when i asked him time he didnt respond. will sms him later to see how. if he too busy then i think can drop him lor cos no point if later he too busy can't do a good job with my house.
  8. 70pairs -_-" i dun know if i have 70pairs of shoe in the years i've lived. anyway, u'll probably be the first tau tblog here and i'll be very interested to see how it turns out since most of my other shortlisted firms have already got tblogs.
  9. alot leh. read my tblog. got all of them inside
  10. was also wondering about this. for me, what i intend to do is to go up to the flat on the day of handing over keys with the agent and seller. then go inspect the house make sure everything satisfactory. get the keys, change the lock to my own, then pay the comm to the agent. if anything amiss, either dun take the key or take and lock but still dun give agent commission until everything rectified to my satisfaction. budden if u doing major reno, really nothing much to see. in fact the more they take away the better. save me the cost of hacking/removing. lol so to me unless roof falling on my head or wall collapsing then got problem lor...
  11. nope not confirmed ID but already got alot of quotes and shortlisted a few. still gonna meet up a few over this weekend. prolly not going to meet more new ones tho... i think they take around 2 weeks average to respond. all these ID super busy one. one thing i have to agree with others is that if u email and 2 mins later reply with quote u also will scared right? that ID must be so bored and no biz till sitting and waiting at the computer for request to come in... so so so... cyn... who is the chosen ID huh?
  12. I think everyone needs to cool down here. As much as the 'recommenders' want to help us by giving us good recommendations. The 'doubters' are also out to help by warning us that all the recommendations MIGHT be fake. We're all (well, not exactly all considering there are really some IDs here giving fake advice/badmouthing) here to help and learn so trust/doubt whatever you want to and at the end of the day, the decision lies with you on who to pick.
  13. so who is the lucky one selected by u? share leh
  14. oh so it just switch off after 20mins? i tot its those timer where it will auto-on at a fixed time and off at another time... im looking for something like that so that i can make the heater on at 740 and off at 800 every morning. hehe
  15. mind sharing where u got the timer and how it works, how to install etc?
  16. yea im sure the quality makes alot of diff in pricing... anyway, just got a call from aerogaz cos i asked about their induction hob... its 599 nia for the 2 induction cooker hob leh... very tempting... will probably go down to their showroom one of these days and take a look. but then again, its aerogaz la local brand... so i guess the price of course cheaper compared to brands like ariston. maybe can just give myself the excuse that must support local brand! lol so i guess right now i aiming the same 2 i mentioned above with links. 439 vs 599...
  17. hi cyn, i see in ur sig, u got system 4 inverter at gaincity? whats the btu configs u got?
  18. grats on your new home. i read a lil about your prev encounter. good that u have found a new place. start a renoblog leh... then you can be the first Tau renoblog and who knows maybe I might follow in your footsteps. i'm still in the process of sourcing for ID but Tau is definitely shortlisted. however, im indeed slightly skeptical about some posters here though i must say that kelvin is really very friendly and helpful. I have even went visiting with him at a flat a pasir ris he had just done up. at first still afraid he might be showing me something very well done or what but i saw the owner talk to kelvin about some flooring problem so im was pretty sure kelvin was the one doing the flat... so anyway, regarding the 'fight' about pictures. i think that having pictures helps alot. lets us see the overall aesthetics with respect to design, color coordination and layout planning of the id. i do agree that workmanship might not be very clear but quality is not all about workmanship
  19. ya get itemized quote. else very hard to judge
  20. went to take a look at furniture and stuff at parkway parade Lvl7 yesterday night. Must say the things there looks pretty nice. Got mayer down there also and I saw the hobs. Learnt that all electrical 4 cooker hobs need 30amp so I guess confirm wun be getting 4 cooker. the thing is that 2 cookers all come with a 'metal frame' which i think kinda spoils the look... dunno why it cant be in full glass... anyway the promo for the ariston 2 vitro cooker hob is still 439 if anyone want to know the pricing there's also a indesit 4 vitro cooker hob at 719 ariston 4 vitro cooker hob at around 1k ariston 4 induction cooker hob around 1.6k or 2k (cant remember already cos no intention to get this one)
