  1. Ya, i didnt know can return... so all throw away already.... need receipt? Otherwise, can use until rusty then exchange new one...
  2. Yup, keeping most of the floor tiles... its very good quality marble... no point changing. Only changing the kitchen and toilet tiles. Hehe... ya, actually, if want to save money, it is really move in condition already. Too bad we have been wanting to have a home with our own taste... so all the wardrobes and cabinets has to go. Oh... keeping the windows and grills too! Actually, we like white ones but just keep lor, its good condition.... do curtains then coverup already.
  3. Current Kitchen... Another View... actually very well maintained.... b..b..but... i cannot live in a kitchen of that colour! Bedroom 2 Masters Bedroom... owner's favourite colour is purple... MBR Toilet Common Toilet... a bit narrow... irritating toilet bowl at the end making it impossible for a partition for shower.
  4. shkeat - ya, island need a lot of space, so we need to tear down wall to extend the kitchen. Angel - yes yes, waiting sooooo long.... Anyway, some pictures of the current place to share.... Entrance into Living Room Living Room with retro fan and cupboard... selling agent keep saying the "TV console" very solid one... worth a lot.... Balcony area that we will be turning into a cozy corner... "Study Room" that was used by the previous owner as a play room for his daughter... this will be part of the extended kitchen.
  5. After a long and agonizing wait... we are getting close to the important dates. 1) Second Appt - 12 March 2) Renovation Start - 16 March In terms of ID, after shopping around 5 IDs, we went back to a relative who is an ID. Initially had some concerns because: 1) Relative - cannot , later anything mess up... how? 2) Relative - cannot squeeze, will we be getting good deal. 3) His customers are mainly expats... so maybe a bit high end. 4) Work is done by a contractor who always works with him. But it means contractor margin + id margin. So cost might be high. But then... after reading the renotalk horror stories, we went ahead with him despite not being the cheapest (even after 自己人discount). At the end of it, don't think he will cut corners or do a poor job. Anyway, told him we will throw a house warming for relatives once completed.... put some pressure on him to do a quality job.
  6. The Crestial bathroom stuff looks great.. where u got from huh? Wow... u went to the crowded Alexis showflat... *sigh*, my id say cannot conceal pipes in toilet... dun want to do for me.

  13. Dear all, I bought a resale flat and the previous owner installed aircon already. However, it is around 12 years old and I want to replace it. Question is, do we tear down the old trunking and install new one? My ID say that no one tear down one... usually just do chemical wash. Anyone can share their experience? Thanks!

  18. Hihi, yes yes, going in with eyes open... don't think we pig headed despite the advice la.... really considered the risk and benefits. thinking risk will be limited since if owner don't sell, he probably will have get a lower price now. Also, we are just doing the hacking before 2nd Appt, so if he doesnt sell... then he can stay in a hacked up house.
  19. Hi All, Any idea where can I get the indemnity form? Housing agent say contractor should have and contractor say agent should have. Checked HDB website and there is an indemnity form but it is more for HDB.
  20. thanks everyone... read the forums and seems like a lot of people are taking the risk. For me, i think i will try to get the keys after 1st appt... thinking of camping there one day to see the wind, sunlight, etc so we have a better idea how things will turn out with the renovation. i.e. whether need to have more light, blackout curtains, etc. By the time finish planning probably 4 weeks liao... then just do the hacking before 2nd appt...
