haha.. it was speedy till last last week.. from last week till this thursday there is NOTHING being done.. until thursday nite I talked to the ID (usually it is my hubby who talked to him), then they started work again.. ai.. I am going oversea for 2 weeks soon.. hopefully I won't see the progess hangs there after I come back... think I will be really really angry if so... the floor tiles, yeah.. it took us a long time to finally confirm the tile.. we want to find light color tiles (after seeing the ex owner's black flooring), preferablely white.. but not so white that one hair drop on the floor also very noticable kind... so in the end we chose this white color, but got some pattern (very light color pattern) on it so the hair won't be so noticeable... As there is no progress last week.. i just post some photos of the things that we shopped.. Common toilet basin Oven.. hmm.. actually we seldom cook, not to mention baking.. hopefully we will really make use of this oven.. although hubby promised he will make baked rice lah, spagatti lah, pizza lah... ;p Kitchen sink that we bought.. the color is called 'volcano black'.. Tap for the Kitchen sink..

i am a bit confused.. Jessie and kastlekonfusion are 2 persons? or same person? They both want the holder? Who should I give to?? hmm.. why not you 2 bid for the holder, higher price win.. kekeke... My holder is original HDB holder. i am not sure what material it is.. but probably not white powder-coded ones.. i've checked with my ID, he said the holder will be dismantled soon. If I want it he can ask the woker not to throw away. So anyone can confirm really want it? because my ID said if later I find out that I dun want it anymore and ask him to throw away he will charge me..
-
hmm.. that holder was done by the ex owner.. I also dun know where to get it leh.. but we are planning to remove it and install those pull up pull down kind.. Thanks for the reminder for the floor tile protection.. i must remind my ID about that.. ;p
-
Oh oh.. which pull out system are you using? We've been searching for pull out system recently also... been to Hettich... think so so only.. not many demo pieces... and ... very expensive...

Full height window.. window grill has been sealed up with the floor tiles.. but.. I tot we need to remove the window grill and repaint it then install it back?? A big big gap between the room and the passageway. The ID put a stainless steel line on the floor.. but it doesn't seem to help to cover the gap. ID said since we need to revanish the parquet, by then the gap will be covered up. Dun know true or not...

hmm.. I can understand that the overhead cannot be hacked off.. but the flooring also got affected? even if hack off the flooring also won't affect the overhead beam downstairs bah.. unless u hack off something like 5 inches.. 10 inches.. no designer will do that bah... My floor tile is from Hafary tile shop at Balestier.. 2nd floor.. it is 800x800.. $4 per sqf.. It actually has some pattern on it but think now cannot really see without polishing it.. If u r interested I can find the model No. and PM u..

Our original height is about 2.6m.. now flooring takes away 3 inches.. plus another 6 inches for false ceiling.. hmm.. think will be slightly less than 2.4m... the ex owner got 3 inches of floor plus 12 inches of false ceiling.. dun know how he passed HDB inspection...
-
Oh.. Kitchen flooring can't be hacked? did your ID tell you why? We won't have ceiling fan. But we would have some hanging lights/chandelier.. so.. ceiling too low is also a headache for us... Ceiling fan has minimum height limit? by HDB?

Oh.. not so fast lah.. the most optimitic schedule is end Aug can finish every thing.. that was the very initial schedule.. but it starts to drag since the first week.. On paper first week should be 3 days for hacking and 2 days for aircon and sth else.. in the end hacking used 3 full days and remaining 2 days was to clear the debris.. aircon is scheduled to be installed this friday.. (now is the 3rd week) but then, we are not in a hurry lah.. as long as we can move in by early Nov.. it is fine with me.. I dun wan to rush the ID also... we really have quite a lot of things to do... this weekend the ID will bring us to bring the hook and hob, basin and toilet bowl.. any recommendation on places to get these? hmm.. heard that is the supplier would bring the wallpaper collection to the ID firm.. the 'brand' or name of the 'collection' (I guess.. it is printed behind the wallpaper) is 'Elusive' and 'Yokohama'... Continue to report on the tiling progres... Think common toilet tile is layed better than master toilet tile leh.. but ID said after they clean up the gaps it would be the same.. ai.. hope so.. Master toilet tiles.. Kicthen tile are good also Old kitchen door is sealed up Living room tile I like bright color in the living room.. especially after seeing the black flooring from the ex owner.. We found out that it is HDB who level up the original flooring for the first owner to be 3 inches! We have no choice but also have to level up to 3 inches in order to mater the room flooring.. (we didn't hack away the room parquet).. think my ceiling will be very low also after the false ceiling..
-
Master toilet wall tile done.. I think they are quite fast.. Common toilet wall tile done.. it looks like purely white.. but actually there is some pattern on it.. I think the Common toilet tiles are done quite nicely.. the gaps are small and linear.. but I am not good at these things.. what do you guys think? ah.. this one can see the pattern.. the actual one will be more obvious than the pic..
-
haha.. my ID said the same thing.. but hmm... dun know where should I put it leh.. seems not very match with 'modern contempory' or 'modern victoria' style... best place is wash room.. but color not match.. ai... yeah.. ID showed me some new collections yesterday.. but hmm.. hvn't decided which one for bed head.. and the one i chose for my book shelf is also not available... thinking of using laminate for the wall behind the book shelf instead of wall paper if still can't find any... ID said this week the supplier will bring in some new collections.. hopefully can find a nice one from there... I saw the wallpaper from a collection called 'Orchestra'.. the book for the collection is in purple color.. let me know if you can find the stock o....

Laying cement... The old common toilet door is sealed up.. cannot see any trace of the previous kitchen cabinet Master toilet.. doing water proofing.. The living room floor tile we selected.. 800x800.. nice?? the actual one after polish will be whiter.. We also bought this cute tile... alth hvn't decided where to put it.. but we liked it so much that just bought it without thinking much.. haha.. hmm.. where can I put it.. master toilet? but the wall tile for master toilet is a bit like peach color ... ID said won't match well with the pig pig tile.. hmm.. so where can i put it?...

Was thinking about replacing the ugly dark color full height window by natural color aluminium window.. ID all the way said OK OK till today he suddently said becoz the window is full height, he need to apply for PE endorsement which costs around 500-800 and apply sth called PAC which costs 2000 bucks and not gurantee it will be approved~~~ OK.. maybe he never did house with full height window and owner wants to change it before.. nvm... anyway.. is this true that replacing the full height window need to apply for so many things? My ID told me the window frame cannot be replaced unless apply for PAC.. I can choose to only replace the casement window glass which only requires PE endorsement.. but I defintely have to put back the wrongt iron grille which is for the lower half of the window.. How about the casement window frame itself? The current window color looks so ugly and a lot of hedges are rusty and one of the window even can't be closed completely... is there a way to change it??

Debris has been cleared.. I was quite impressed that the corridoor outside the house is quite clean.. no sign can show that moutain of debris has been moved out from the house and another moutain of sands being moved in the house... luckly does not cause any disturbance to the neighbour... Common toilet.. took from the new entrance along the corridoor.. the old entrance in the pic, which connects to the service balcony will be sealed up soon.. Kitchen.. now looks much bigger than before... Sands Window looks so nice without window grill... but.. both hubby and MIL insist must have window grill.. so sad.. from the skirting you can see the ex owner level up the floor a lot... Maybe it is a bit far.. but look at the main door.. see how much it has been cut for the level up-ed flooring.. We also went to select wall paper after that.. that is my bedhead feature wall paper.. how? how? I like it very much.. hope it will look nice when it is done hmm.. the actual wall paper is not so yellowish as shown in the pic.. think it is becoz of the lighting..

More pics on the 2nd day of hacking... we went there directly after work.. was wearing high heels.. can you imagine.. everyone in the hse were so nervous to see me trying to walking into the hse.. in the end.. I just walked for 4 steps and stood there .. asked hubby to climb the moutain and across the river.. haha Hack the wine cabinet away.. look at the moutain of the garbage.. no way I can walk on it.. Living room Master toilet.. I think... Kitchen.. moutain is so high that even hubby also can't walk in.. just made a long arm inside the kitchen and took photo... Service balcony

Me first spam chop~~~ hahaha.. legendary sofa... The shape of the room remind me about blk 380+ near bukit gombak MRT... Hope to see more pic soon... Oh the hse looks brand new.. just like HDB show flat that I visited last time.. haha.. and.. nice wedding car..

hmm.. I did consider lay sth bright over the living room granite.. but the thing is the ex owner already level up the floor and do 3 layers of false ceiling.. we worries that overlay might make the whole place looks even lower.. so.... Completely agree!! :yamseng: hmm... the living room's wall are tiled up?? are you referring to the 2nd pic? it is a normal white painted wall.. I also dun know why there is grey color lines appearing on the wall.. probably due to the camara or the lightings.. tell you secretly.. I heard the ex owner spent 90K on the reno.. 90K on 10 yrs ago... ai.. sometimes dreaming that if he could pass the 90K to me 10 yrs ago and I helped him design the whole hse then it will be perfect~~
-
Yeah.. I know.. but I guess this is one of the first batches of HDB to implement the thing.. I saw the same thing at Jurong West st 60+.. those west facing block also have the same metal thing outside the window. but the holes are much more dense and the height of the metal thing is less than one third of the window height.. not like my place.. it nearly occupies half of the window's view...
-
yeah.. it really pains me too to hack off the granite.. but.. comparing to turn on all the living room's light at 12 noon, I would rather hack it away.. no kidding.. 12 noon with light off in the living room.. i hv trouble walking around.. why din the ex owner chose another color for the granite~~~~ $3088 including reinstalling the bracket.. we think it is expensive too.. Gain city quoted us for 2750 for the exact same model with bracket.. but we choose this contractor because he is the ID's contractor. Supposely easier to "work with to accormodate our design".. another thing is, his workmanship will be included in the 5-year's warranty of our reno.. anything goes wrong I can just pick up a phone to call my ID.. i just tell myself that i am paying 300+ extra for the additional 4 year warranty loh...

Yeah.. I can put 2 compressors.. there are 2 ledges.. one outside the dining room window and the other is outside the master room window.. Yeah.. my unit is at high floor.. but it is not windy.. coz all the windows are facing west.. see the metal thing outside the window.. this is the No. 1 thing I want to remove from the hse yet cannot.. it is blocking half of the window's view..
