it is norm, i email almost 20ppl and call up almost all of them. less than half reply. of the half reply, at least half of them just show mi their standard package(plus top up) which i'm not interest.

Well one THING to NOTE. Never ever PAY to any ID/contractor any CASH. Always PAY to the company, either in cash/check/nets. If pay to company in cash, they will provide a cash receipt with company logo. Even if ID/contractor help u buy things, either pay ONLY when goods reach your house or if need deposit, pay to the company of the things you buy from.

try open/close everything, hmm don be too careful which normally new things ppl tend to do that. all items should be able to restain some abuse. tried out all electirc socket? someone mentioned her spoil within a week. turn on everything possible to see will trip a not. by right not suppose right.

mi not so soon lah. only move in next Oct 09. only maybe, if reno able to complete, then go stay weekend? anyway, mi and my wife will plan out what cleaning need to be done and how long to need do to, see if we can do our own first a not lor. such as . . . Aircon mop floor wipe cabinet wipe wall etc.

hmm maybe u wan to checkout some items that u might find yourself. such as -> main gates, Windows grill, door, carpentry work so that u roughly know how much they gain for comission.

mmycheng, u can open a cleaner shop and get comission lah. a lot ppl fro the neighbour will ask u if she can also help out. ^_^

mrspiglet, actually flooring is one of the killer in RENO, next will be carpentry. with flooring out, your cost will only be half of what other intend to do. anyway, can jus ask all the reno to compare the prices first, at least this way u will know roughly what will be the cost.
