Yes yes writing in to ST forum may help but NO NO to posting on Stomp.com. That place is a infestation ground for kids and ppl who have nothing to do. Looking at the comments will speak a thousand words. Haha. Anyway, I kinda like the card-access system but I am rather mixed on it. It should do well to improve overall safety but may not be that gd against vandalism and other stuff. Sometimes have u guys ever wondered if those 'culprits' are actually residents in 79 too? Not saying that they're us. For example, I am still staying at my parents' place now while waiting for my reno to be completed. Most of the days, the lifts are flooded with urine. Ppl from other blocks dun just specially come over to use the 'loo'. I can bet they're the ppl who are actually staying in the block...the kids or their dogs. zzz. End of the day, it's a matter of upbringing & responsibility. Am not flaming any1. Just my thoughts but I'm all for the card-access system proposal. Tks. Will give them a ring when hse is done up. Ya saw it when u did a open-hse that time we visited. Will give them a ring once hse is rdy.

It's not only now that students are 'misbehaving'. It has been like that since dunno when (my time also the same). It's a part and parcel of growing up for them. There'll definitely be some who 'misbehave' but saying this, I;m not condoning their actions. Recently saw a really young couple making-out at my parents' place's staircase...was taken by surprise...haha. They didnt even bother when I was there. Free show? They're everywhere! I agree that we should write in to the schools too. Snap pictures and videos & let the disciplinary master handle this. Sad to say that there're pros and cons of staying in a tall building like ours. Not being sceptical but I see our beloved 79 turning into a suicidal block where ppl will jump down. Pardon me for saying this now. I remembered a fren who stays at the Queens...the tallest building in that area then. Immediately once the condo is opened, there're cases of ppl jumping down from it. Not residents but ppl from outside the condo. Actually imho, I do not see the need for such a device since our home is quite small. It would be most effective in a landed property where there are many rooms and many inhabitants. Just be a bit more conscious to switch off appliances when not in use => that'll do just fine. On a side-note, have any1 heard of biometric door locks?

Haha this sounds a bit lame....30 mins for the police to arrive? Prevention is still the best way to avoid crime, in this case, break-ins. One thing's for sure...NOTHING'S FREE in this world. Seems like the deceased is the father-in-law of someone working in my Company. Just got an email about the wake details. Same block and same date of passing-away. Sad... Seems like the deceased knew the murderer from another report as neighbours said they nvr heard and commotions. Hope the case is solved asap.

This murder case is sad. Have to agree that the design & size of 79 is VERY favourable to crooks. The 1st time I walked from the mscp over to my blk via the 'link-way', I was thinking: "Gosh, these passages are so dark." Hopefully 79 will not turn from a place I am proud to stay in to a place where I am scared to stay in.

Ya, signed up @ a roadshow @ Bugis at the start of this year. We love the Crystal Ballroom for its beautiful chandeliers. Some may not like the decor cos it's a bit old. Haha. But no worries, I heard the ballroom will be undergoing a complete overhaul by Oct 09. If u wanna find out about the perks, we can talk offline. Dun think it's a good idea to post so openly. Oops that reminds me. I missed my deadline for my first SP bill after only opening the letterbox 2wks back but b4 that I applied for giro payment with the POSB everyday card. No confirmation on the giro yet. How how? To pay first or wait?

Will definitely do so. Haha. Talking about door cracks & scratches...dunno wat's the true definition of it? U know our main gate? My gf has turned it into her private sticker-book collection with all the white tapes. Dunno whether those are real scratches or just part of the gate design. HDB ignored those stickers when doing 'rectification works'. Now dunno whether to pursue further.

Update update Reno is going into the 3rd wk...living tiles & kitchen bases r up and electrical wiring is done. Now I see many many 'snakes'. Painting and ceiling should be up by end this wk. Just spent a lot of $$ on lighting and kitchen stuff last wkend. Am now broke. Haha. Now VERY BZ with furniture shopping, not to mention, it's a BIG BIG HEADACHE too. 75sqm is SMALL! Having problems finding the right sofa and dining table. Sad but gd pt is that I can see our hse evolving. Catch up with u guys soon

Dun tell me Winnie LS cos of your new neighbour? Tsk tsk. Anyway, have a question for all. My reno has just started and my HDB defects have not been rectified. I have submitted the list for 3 wks liao. The svc ctr at 79C told me they will get it done b4 this wk and in the worst case, my reno and their rectification works can go concurrently. Till now...nothing! Been there to complain twice...that uncle kept giving me the same excuse...have arranged for some1 to go over the next day liao. **** pissed about the same lame excuse everytime. Lucky only minor defects. Is there any other channels to complain?

I wouldnt bet on getting free parking on Sun at the MSCP. Simple reason, we're near the 'TPY centre'. My guess is that the MSCP will be converted to the gantry-type parking in future like the 1s u get across the street, meant only for season parking. Let's hope they dun errect another one of those ERP gantries along the roads nearby. zzz.

Hi all neighbours, would like to check on something. For the rectification of original hse defects by HDB, what's the procedure if we r reporting to the centre at 79C? Heard they have been extended to Sep. Same day report, same day rectify? (i doubt so...lol) What's the pt of leaving the keys with them? Owners need not be there when they come down? Tks all
