LIke dat i quite lucky, when i started my renovation process in jan 11, i approached Y*** & only 1-2 other firms..some i know approached like countless IDs/Contractors.I told all of them i starting work in june. I decided take Y*** coz he has done alot of EM & im impressed with his workmanship. Met him 1-2x to fine tune,but didnt sign till like in end april..due to some change in plans,i told him at end apr i need start work in early May. I was expecting a rejection or delay but he say ok..he can do whatever he can..i was so happy. Work started last fri (sat-mon no work due to holidays), wed i took a look, house hacked finished & cleared all debris,reno is going smoothly..but i feel bad for TS as maybe coz of me, he cannot take his job. He does appear cold at 1st but warm up to him when the process begin. So those intending to take him, please book & confirm early.

1 lady from Paul Aluminium came, say my balcony width big, around 3.9m, although shutter only extend 1/2 way coz i got windows below..estimated cost $3k+...haiz.She havnt get back to me on exact quote yet though. Any other lobang for aluminium shutter?

Soichiro: Dats really dirt cheap with wood some more. My contractor quoted: $3.2k excl dismantling. I got another guy, willing to do at $2.3k + dismantling old staircase

Hmm..the guy told me 2x visit, 1st time to install trunking & 2nd time to fix compressor & unit & do test run.. pay 50% on each visit..i not so particular on how many visits as long as they do swee2. My current home have those zinc like roofing on balcony, its ugly & worse of all its **** noisy wen raining heavily. Macam like kampung house, Contractor quoted 2.5k to replace with tiled roofing. Considering Paul aluminium shutter, but can it be used if i installed windows at the lower part?

Glass with wood look so much better, stainless steel doesnt blend well with glass.. Ur la germania stove reminds me of the stove my mum uses in early 1980s, not sure hw u gonna design ur kitchen by using the stove. Looks expensive.

Really very very nice...worthy to put in decor magazine.. Love the idea of converting the space leading to the common toilet to become part of mbr..i always felt that space is wasted. Cant imagine how much ur reno would cost....i figured around high 5 digit to 6 digit coz my overhaul of EM, nothing fancy cost like $60k+ already. I notice you have like a total of 6 aircon units.

There was another couple who was there, i not sure who.. My EM is near tampines round market...the way yeak do up ur house..i love it. I was considering the glass railing like yours but back out after seeing my toddler daughter had difficulty climbing up and down the stairs.. well, hard to say la..coz u knoe how ah long work... Now in the midst of finalising the stuff to work on or omit coz quote exceed budget bit & best part his quote..i saw didnt include 1st floor toilet, i not sure he missed it or something..need to check with him. but anyway great job!!! Hope my home will turn out as nice as urs.

HI bro, i juz PM u, i find ur reno is very nicely done and base on the cost of your railing and mine. I tink i got ripped off on staircase alone...others i cant imagine. Ur cost $4,150 Mine is $4900(12mm glass panel, no wood support), $250 (removal of old railings), $850 (create concrete support for glass panels) = $6,000. WTF!!

Hello fellow EM owners, Finally, got enough budget to reno my place...I got a popular contractor here to quote..happy he can do my place but there are some items which I feel is too over priced. He managed to meet my budget but after scrutinising the quote.. he forgot quote me for 1st floor toilet, change 3x bedroom doors + window & grilles for 2nd floor.. Some items i feel overpriced & i feel like sourcing out on my own for these few items like windows/grilles: 1. 12mm thick glassn panel for railing - $4,900 + $850 (concrete support for glass panels) 2. I ask him to quote for wrought iron coz later i find not so safe if kids wanna use it as support - $3,200 3. Rewiring for whole house - $3,900 (not sure how many lighting/power pts im given) 4. Whole house painting + plastering +oil sealer - $4,250 (but was later told he quoted wrongly & be adjusting upwards, not sure by how much) 5. Kitchen cabinet (41 ft) - $4,100 some other items, but i find these 5 items bit high..any comments..

My father in law repaired at 1.5k, really got difference after refurbishing it.. We compared the single sofa against the refurbished 1. So much thicker, comfy & smell of leather strong. Anyway he got it at another shop.

Ur sofa looks exactly like my father in law...he got 3+1+1. price wise i not so sure.. It peeled as bad as urs.. If not worst. Juz sent it to redo the leather. The guy say the sofa is not leather but pu.

Of coz la.. Spirits dun need to unlock gate & door.. They juz float in.. Yes lock definitely muz change.. When my maid ranaway, the 1st ting we change was the gate padlock. Too many people have access to ur keys already. To be safe, better cover all angles, change padlock, paste a talisman, altar, or watever religous item u believe in...
