  7. Bought a Queen sized KingKoil luxurious classique or something like that from the GSS Robinsons GST absorbed sale... didn't have robinsons 5%rebate coz not a member and the sales guy threw in more freebies for us like 2 free mattress protector, 1 free bolster and 2 free hollow fiber pillows instead of the normal ones... Sealy is a nice mattress... just that my hubby prefers a slightly more firm bed... Good luck with the mattress shopping! Hope that helps!
  8. Your feature wall looks very nice and it's very functional too! Nice!
  9. Hello frostyflake!!! I am engaging this ID firm called Avantgarde Livin, they are not extremely well known or anything, but they did my friends' house renovation so I just went with them. Just received my 1st 3D drawings and was very disappointed... ID said it's just a rough draft and we will meet up soon to discuss~ We are going furniture shopping tomorrow.. yay... Your house is really very big and spacious... I really like the idea of having a stair case and split living living... Hope oneday I will live in an EM too!
  10. Your bf is so cute! I can't find your reno blog leh~ would love to see your photos!
  11. As long as your hubby doesn't mind, I think it's fine to walk down the aisle as you are... I think it shows how strong a person you are going through your treatments and you must be proud to be a survivor. You go girl! Ooh, and congratulations on your wedding!
  12. Hi frostyflake! so nice that you have 9 cats and 1 dog! Hubby and I have 2 cats too! already not easy to manage so 9 cats is quite a feat I must say! hope you can your drawings soon...i'm waiting for my drawings also...seemed to be waiting forever for them... sigh! good luck to your reno too! hope to see more photos soon~
  13. Well, no place is perfect...Singapore is only so small, no where is really out of the way. As long as its somewhere you and your spouse likes... the extra 10 mins or 3 mins is not a concern... The design of La Casa really looks nice... white tiles and blue skies... very resort like... Thanks for your recommendation, i will check out the Macpherson place! Like you, I also wanted a new place... not many projects TOP this year...~
  14. I've been to the outlet at Furniture Mall... Find the prices reasonable and quality not bad... Items look pretty nice too! (or at least it suits the modern contemporary kind of look for my home...) Definitely worth looking!
  15. wow! that's fast... those pieces are nice and are buys. is your sofa going to be red color?? that'll be very stunning! Where is the Bedding Saloon you went? Is it at the Furniture Mall? I have yet to buy a mattress for our home yet...was thinking of buying from Courts. Simmons seems expensive... (even though it is an excellent investment for good sleep) But for us, budget constrained Think mattress must be <2K... hopefully around 1500$ or so... when are you moving in? So egg-citing!! the development looks very nicely done! and I feel... for a concept like this, it's good to be further away from the bustling town centre... you get a peaceful feel of your surroundings when you get home...=)
  16. Have been shopping around for good deals for our new home- Thought I'll share the info with everyone here (This is only for general reference as I'm recording them down based on memory) - Barang Barang 20%-40% on some items... including sofas, dining table set, accessories my take: not bad if you find nice pieces or you've been eying a certain piece for a long time. - I wanna go home 10-20% on some items... my take: items are still pricey even with the discounts... Should be able to get better deals elsewhere? - Ikea my take: Kitchenware was supposed to be on sale but certain items are out of stock, for eg this set of cutlery that hubby and i were interested in... Nice place to buy the nick knacks, yummy meatballs~ Alexandra branch is undergoing upgrading so there is limited stuff on sale... Tampines would be the better place to go... - Aussino Paragon branch has the biggest selection from what I observe, items on 30% discount and if you have the UOB card, there's a special promotion going on. my take: Their range of items really suit my style so I bought alot of my dinnerware from here. Very pretty plates and bedsheets and coffee mugs etc etc... - OG Kitchenware was on sale... 20% off on some items and promotions for certain brands like WMF, Wusthof and JA Henckels... my take: Very good deal for WMF cutlery set- $79 for 24 pieces, 3 pots for $100, etc Anymore good places to go for good buys, pls feel free to add on to the list!
  17. the show flats photos are very nice! congrats to your new home! hope to see more pics soon =)))) Are you also furniture shopping like us now?
  18. heh can have BBQ next time like Patsy mentioned! Yeah fixed intervals... my agent told me 6 times a day... it's quite soft actually... and it passes by quite quickly... Just that those units facing the rail track will have west sun... that's the consideration for us... Other than that, the noise from the train is pretty minor. (especially so if you compare it to developments near main roads or highways)
  19. Yeah... I love going there at night... what made me fall in love with the place was also the night view... very quiet and peaceful... no other condo or building in sight... it's like going home to a sanctuary After a stressful day at work, you really feel relaxed when you come home to a place like this...
  20. oh no...that makes the balcony really ugly... i really have no idea why residents would do that to destroy the beautiful facades of the place... sigh... I think we'll use a dryer and not hang our clothes out... i feel it's better to preserve the looks of the entire development... hi Bunbun, from what I understand from our future neighbours to be, they mentioned they had some probs with the skirtings... I'm not sure what kind of defects HDB has because I have never bought a HDB flat before... This is my first home with my hubby
  21. Oh that's good! finally can start on RENO~ I just went to Aussino yesterday and bought alot of stuff for our new home! The sale is really good! How does the pulley system work? Btw, does it spoil the look of our units if the clothes are pushed out of the yard? I think we might just use a dryer so that we don't have to hang up our stuff... not very sure yet~
  22. Cheese cake your house is really beautiful!!!!
  23. Oh! thanks! Congrats to you too! my AD is in Oct Just finished with the photoshoots... wedding preps and house preps together is xiong! =) wow your house is 100% liao! that's fast... =) How is your wedding prep getting along? Or is Mrs Yang Guo-to-be handling that? I'm still waiting for ID to give me 3D drawings eh... will post them when I get them! We will only collect keys in July! still waiting and waiting... First time home buyers here...so not sure what defects to look out for! Thanks your tip, we'll look out for the skirtings to see if the colour is ok... When is your reno starting? So exciting! BTW we are next block to you.. haha.. blk 89. you+hubby in blk 87 right? Pool facing unit as well? Thanks DIVA! That's a lot of research done! Think it'll definitely come in useful for us!
