Class '0' Armaflex (Fire Propagation, BS 476 part 6 1989) has an excellent fire safety performance achieving BS476 part 6 1989 for low fire propagation, producing minimal contribution to the overall heat release, and BS476 part 7 1997 for zero surface spread of flame. Class '0' Armaflex's reaction to fire is self-extinguishing and does not drip.

Armaflex Class 1 Closed Cell Elastomeric Nitrile Rubber Insulation is probably the best insulation material available. The elastomeric insulation material was not the lowest-priced product, but achieved by far the highest score for its technical properties. With a thermal conductivity of 0° C ≤ 0.034 W/ (m·K), a resistance to water vapour transmission of µ ≥ 10,000 and an oxygen index of L.O.I. > 35, installations insulated with Class 1 Armaflex have long-term protection against condensation and energy losses. The insulation material made by Armacell is more energy efficient than traditional elastomeric products – a fact that is true for the whole service life.

Is it this Miki Curtains?

Of the 3 curtain retailers in Bedok, only H.M. Curtain at Blk 211 offers better pricing, the other 2 are just preying on unknowing walk-ins. Found Miki Curtains and TTS Window Fashion. Curtains Cleaning Guide

1st, refer to the concealed pipe plan that was deposited in your mailbox. I believe the tap at the kitchen sink is the 1st outlet. 2nd, check the water flow from the tap at the kitchen sink. If the water flow is consistent, it means the point of water flow fluctuation is after this outlet. If the water flow is inconsistent, it mean the point of fluctuation is before. If the assumption that the tap at the kitchen sink is the 1st outlet is correct and the flow from the tap is inconsistent, that means the source of water flow fluctuation is probably from the water tank located at some levels above your unit. And if so, your neighbours should experience similar anomaly. Another non-scientific way is to check your water meter, note how fast the the number roll, whether it is consistent. Always place a pail under any tap u decide to let it run at a moderate rate. Waste water not.

On the choice of locks, read the public notice boards on the ground floor next to the lift. There's a not very eye-catching, thus easy to miss advisory letter from SPF on the type of locks to pick & avoid. Heh, depends on which perspective the reader has: Locker or Picker; Owner or Burglar. Anyone who parks their cars at Blk 219 MSCP knows the design of this MSCP can be better. For eg, the leftmost lane that leads to the rear of Blk 219C. The space constraint has really cramped Surbana public residential projects designers. Design is on paper, reality definitely differs. And there is no overhead rain shelter from the end of the MSCP to Blk 219A. Discovered this yesterday when it was raining. Good news: The sandwiched stretch between the two blocks are open, except the fitness station and the playground, which are still barricaded up. And there are two areas with overhead shelter where Linear Greeners can hold gathering: one between Blk 219B & 220C, another between Blk 221B & 221C. And yes, the kopi at 咖啡宅 is very ex. Small little cup that wouldn't last for 3 mins. Linear Green trivia: Do u know that's a colour assigned for each block in Linear Green? For eg, 219A, 219B,..... Bad news: Juvenile delinquents taken to skateboard & damage the granite benches.

Non-inverter model H3UC216FA0, right? Which retailer u bought it from? Installed & each FCU fully tested?

Been using a Singtel fixed line since Oct. General consensus: Not recommended. U can gauge the rate of water flow by switching the water flow to the tap under the shower head. This rate of water flow from the tap is the rate of water that goes into the shower head. If the water flow rate from the tap is consistent, that means the shower head maybe somewhat defective. If the flow from the tap is inconsistent, it would mean other factors.

Fridges with 3 ticks energy saving are expensive right? So are inverter aircons with 4 ticks. How big are the rooms? And what are the heat sources? It is possible to do a simplified heat load calculation of the BTU needed for each room & the total BTU required.

The key principle to know is Cooling power/capacity used = electricity consumed - it's a direct proportional r/s, like car engine capacity: bigger engine capacity used = higher petrol expense. Inverters The difference between inverter and non inverter is the inverter units can alter their speed in response to cooling demand. Some units have an initial over-speed period where they will run at a slightly higher capacity for a set time to pull down the temperature of a hot room. When they reach the set point temperature they can reduce capacity to maintain that level without cycling as much as a normal unit would. This saves power although it’s arbitrary as it would still take a while to recoup the increased purchase costs. The inverter unit increases the power usage slightly as it converts the incoming power into a suitable style for the air conditioner although the ability to run at a reduced power level helps to drop the overall usage to below that of a typical non-inverter unit. Most of the advertising claiming 30% lower bills using inverters are based on very carefully set up laboratory scenarios. In reality, while they may cost less to run than a conventional unit, buying an efficient conventional unit will still be cost effective. Thus the advantage of inverter aircon technology is that it uses less than 100% of its cooling capacity when the cooling required is below the compressor's cooling capacity. Whereas when non-inverter aircon goes to work to cool, it draws 100% of the compressor's cooling capacity, while a compressor with inverter technology is able to use less than 100% to cool. The objective measure is the electricity charges chalked up by the airon model as per NEA's database of aircon models.

Help! Strange Noise When Switch On Air Con.
DSA replied to jevil's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Cats & dogs may hear such high-pitched noise better if it's ultrasonic. Is the noise super high-pitched 'air' noise? This may be caused by a leak of high pressure gas thru' a pin-sized hole in the copper pipes... Or is it more like metal screeching noise? -
How is that no one uses NEA's database of aircon for reference?

Hahaha! Your current old place is better lah - I love the open space: the walk from LG to Blk 16 is always enjoyable. If the reno contract you signed does not include a reno completion delay penalty clause, you are out of luck. Doesn't take a lawyer for the HR to know they will not be penalised for delay, so they'll just take their own sweet time and NOT speed things up coz either way, their profit margin is there for the taking so why should they hurry up? Unless the flat owner pursues the delay & deducts XX% from the outstanding amount. However, as the HR hold the key plus access to the units they are renovating, the flat owner is practically held hostage to their whims & fancies till the entire renovation is completed. Complete payment of the outstanding amount AFTER ALL the defects you managed to spot & detect are rectified AND you have moved in completely. You have as much right as them to delay payment since they delayed your unit's renovation completion. The above is just ONE of the numerous issues that home owners rarely, if at all, consider before they sign the reno contract coz most are not in the know of things when it comes to renovation, construction & project management.
-
That's why the reno contract must include plausible remedies, ie penalties on the ID/contractor, for any delay. They are, afterall in the business of reno - they are expected to be able to provide a good estimation of projected completion date. If they can't, who can?
-
Yes, I have detected one crack on the short wall, close to the windows. There are probably other damages around my unit as the unit above demolished the walls in BR2 & 3. The vendors are really taking very long, own sweet time to reno - the reno permit is issued on 24th Sept and reno is still ongoing till now.
-
Is there a reason for the steel ventilation plate to be in the 'open' position? The other ventilation outlet is closed?
-
For those whose units are under renovation, make 150% sure it is secured by a tough padlock that can't be picked, broken or sawed. The burglar who committed the most recent break-in had placed the padlock right in the living room to mock whoever used it to secure the unit.

elstrial, your query has been discussed & deliberated. Use the search field located near the bottom left corner of this page - It's your best friend in RenoTalk.com On a more important note, Linear Greeners who encounter public areas in Linear Green residential estate that requires cleaning can get the numbers from the cleaners when u spot them. Then u can call them whenever u need cleaning of the public areas. They are to sweep public areas daily & wash the blocks once a month. Beats calling ECTC who will relay the request to the contractor who might instruct the cleaners but due to the noise introduced in the instruction relay chain & natural loss & mis-interpretation of instruction, the final outcome is sometimes incongruent with the initiator's request. In addition, as there is no monitoring system in place, the final outcome is often not what the resident have in mind = the place is still dirty.

Blinds, curtains, black trash bag plastic, whatever that can block peering eyes & provide me with privacy when I open the window. Getting some material, whatever from Ikea as recommended by hihihi. But I need a wall drill. Why doesn't Ikea loan drills at a small fee with security deposit?? The Senior Engineer wishes to see my unit & see with his own eyes the wrongs with Surbana's design & China Construction's shoddy workmanship, albeit minor ones.

Rates of Sanitary Work, Building Works and Electrical Works. Now we can see the partial GPMs of those HRs.

Fred, your qn is simple but the deliberation process is multi-variate. The full model of each brand & your detailed & specific requirements are information which one must have to deliberate over a choice of aircon system; without them, the optimal decision will not be reached OR a decision reached will not be optimal. Next, refer to NEA. Adjust the year period next to the Energy Bill to 0.083333333333333333333333333333333 & u'll get your monthly electricity bill chalked up by the air-con system, ie, cash burnt every month by the coldness produced by each model of aircon compressor. Here is the brochure of Toshiba Non-Inverter Aircon Systems.pdf The critical success factor of any air-con, new or used, is the worst part of the trunking = installation diligence & care provided by the trained air-con installers who must hold a valid BCA Aircon installer licence.

Anyone did curtains/blinds on the window opening to the air-con ledge? How effective is it? And what's the cost & type of blinds or curtains installed?
