Anyone Knows Where To Buy Replacement Hdb Window Handle?
hihihi replied to happypie's topic in DIY Corner
window makers -
Toyshop, if you've noticed BigOlange's feature wall only extended a little bit, so not too bad. I've seen one which extend quite a fair bit ~50cm. That makes the corner rather dark. What u wanna achieve actually very much depend on your budget. Fancy ideas needs deeper wallet.

this kind is surely neighbour complain de, otherwise HDB won't have such wide ears to know. Sad to say, even though neighbours may not know each other, but when it comes to renting out, some pple can get pretty busybody.
-
ya, you can extend the wall out, can make it 2.0-2.5inch thick. behind the extension, better to do a downlight or light that can shine into that corner, otherwise that corner will be pretty dark.

anything around $4psf is good enough. Usually those film will give u at least 5yr warranty. U can ask those vendors' salesman to come to your place FOC to give u sample and quotes. they usually run around spore to get biz. They have green, blue, silver... colour is not a problem, only is cost. VKool, 3M those kind are high end stuff, unless u have a deep pocket, then go for it.

Sers And Non Sers
hihihi replied to salavanun's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
u can't compare like that de. in SERS situation, the gahment actually are chasing pple away in exchange for a smaller flat (new flat are definitely smaller even if for the same size). By doing such a dis-serivce to the owners, they surely have to sweeten the deal abit by pricing. I've gone thru an enbloc b4, so I understand the situation. Especially if the replacement site is good, the price of left overs can shoot up real high, and mind u, those prices are direct from HDB, they simply just put up a high pricetag, knowing pple will still want it, somehow, someone. ya, some pple love to buy flats that are declared enbloc, you'll see tons of flyers jamed into the mailboxes. but usually only non-citizen will tend to sell away their flats in such situation, as they don't get to enjoy the discounts, or those who are liable to pay levy wanting to escape from it. -
concealled wiring is deem illegal works by HDB. Only they can do, u can't do it on your own. if u are limited by the number of points, u can consider splitting from existing points or relocating them to another location. If u ask pple to rewire, usually what they do is to split, except for dedicated high current points like heater.

this would be better, can prevent cracks from forming again. btw, spalling concrete and wall cracks are totally different thing. Spalling concrete usually can hold like 5yrs or so b4 coming back again.

SLS and SLT have shop that customize for you. No need for ugly soldering. Of coz pay a premium price.

my renovator mentioned that tanked gas burns hotter than piped gas, I don't really know how true is that. Also, maybe u can find out whether anyone did a check on whether CitiGas or tanked gas is cheaper, litre by litre.

Big Olange.. Seems like either our estate is very prone to mosquitoes breeding or the NEA officier is smoking me very well. I had to frequently do this like once every 1-2mths. Everytime I get more than 3mosquitoes a nite, next day fire the SMS to NEA. Without fail, the officer will everytime tell me the same thing that they found a mosquito breeding site. Don't know how true is this, but each time really the mosquitoes are gone after their feedback. My historical record, >14mosquitoes in 1 single night. Some of the bodies are here: Can complain via their website or SMS.

Is It Very Easy To Install A Doorbell?
hihihi replied to Misc100's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
those wireless type u closed eyes also can do. just put in battery, the most difficult part is to decide where to place the bell. -
the slope to be made towards the drain hole is very gentle slope. bigger slice of tiles are more difficult to form a smooth slight gradient. using smaller slices of tiles is easier to make a smooth gradient, can slowly reduce the gradient in each tile step, get the idea?

pls file FR and report damage.

ever saw it selling in YS-One in one of the big hw store. pretty amazing. It'll turn out black, and u have to coat it over with the final paint colour.
-
pretty easy if u've seen pple doing it before. Basically u can just goto hardware store to buy plaster, comes in either powder or premixed in a bucket. And u need a metal scrapping tool, the job is akin to sculpting cream on a cake, or macdonald staff cleaning the glass walls. Get one with a bigger face plate since yours is a big wall. since your wall can see the bricks, u'll need a thicker coat, I suggest u buy those bucket premixed, and have to do it a few coats. Let the first coat dry for like 1hr minimum, then apply the next coat, then repeat. added: it's not cement, it's plaster. And u have to let the wall completely dry before painting...give it 2-3days minimum, a week if u have lots of time.

Ikea Vs Contractor
hihihi replied to boohoo's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
check the material used by IKEA, they like to use chipboard for cabinets. contractor will usually use plywood (altough plywood also have different grades now) -
I was away when the flush was changed to a dual flush. The flushing is indeed stronger.
