Pull Door Or Sliding Door Glass Shower Screen
hihihi replied to hobbes187's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
Hmm... I also having the same considerations. Best is to do a open-door type with door that pushed into the shower area like Cheekybee had done. -
Hmm... I remeber old style (>20yrs ago) they only used cement. New style sure will use silicon sealant.

1) Stainless steel pipe, IKEA has alot of those ideas, u can get from there. But the drilling can u DIY? 2) Glass backing. alot of contractor says got heat source, so must be tempered glass cannot normal glass, cost is like $300?? Stainless steel dunno what price but I reckon will be harder to clean. End up I give up the idea.

I think he/she means CASEMENT window. Some newer HDB has the stainless steel poles outside the service balcany that you cannot do casement, can only do sliding. Coz casement when u open, it will hit the poles. Casement: - better sound isolation - harder to clean Sliding: - min 1 panel will be wasted. the IN thing now is slider-casement. Newer HDB comes fitted with those.

Tinted Green/blue Glass For Window = More $$ ?
hihihi replied to cueball's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
Last time when I did my windows with slightly greenish colour glass instead of normal colourless glass, need to topup a little bit, but not much. Actual cost forgotten. You can source for your own windows makers in yellowpages. Ask a few, then u'll know the cost. But usually they cannot give u a price until the actual measurement. Unless of coz you already had a rough measurement e.g 170sq metre, then compare shop to shop. -
Hi H4Happy, Thanks for the wonderful picture, that is what I am looking for. So it actually exists! I will go hardware shops to look for it then. Brand is "T&J" (sounds like Tom & Jerry)... hehe

False Ceiling Lights To Which Switch?
hihihi replied to lxiul's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
AFAIK, those are downlights, and are either ON or OFF. I would suggest the sofa area that row, where u place your sofa, That row has 1 switch controlling that entire row. the remaning 3 rows, use another switch to control. Coz u'll be seldom switching on the other 3 rows, unless u feel electricity is free. -
My contractor quote says "shower screen with tempered glass". But when he bring me goto see his existing works, what I saw is actually not tempered glass but some kind of plastic (polyethene or something). He said he'll be doing the same thing for me... I knew but I kept quiet at the moment. I checked with the supplier also, the "plastic" and "tempered glass" has price difference of abt $70/door. Total I am making 2. I know this is sort of like cheating, but I also need to let him earn something, at the same time, what I worry abt is that glass is harder to clean and any dirt is more visible... dilemma.. any suggestions?

Bookmark. I was also habouring the thought of buying furnitures form JB. Found a sofa maker from JB but also have shops in Spore, brand is Uvonna. Anyone knows of the transport cost to Spore?

oppsss sorry, din't read properly, mine was a casement window with the "hairy" strip. perhaps u can call up a window maker to ask for advice. They being the expert probably can offer u some solutions.

Yup, the sun came at a 45 deg angle from the interchange. There's some blocks which jugs out (as opposed to 5rm which is sunk in), those they will have their MBR wall exposed to the sun. Nite time the wall sure hot like pancake. Not sure of the block number, is the one next to Blk 220A, beside the 5rm. But facing train is really very noisy. No joke. Unless u don't open window, rely purely on aircon. At first I wanted MRT facing for the seaview, but by the queue number I've got, mostly is filled to 9th floor, only has train view, so no point.

What's the damage$ for the sofa? Massimmo, Hecom or Morris Lifestyle

Hi, Saw Melandas brand sofa in Cxxxts, but search their website, all contact numbers are no longer in use. The Paragon branch heard also closed down few years ago. Anyone knows what happened to them? Are they still in business? I was thinking of buying sofa directly from them for cheaper price. Thanks.

no yet start actually. Was delayed for few mths, searching for contractor, also I was overseas...

Hi all, Is anyone using extendable dinning table? can post some pics to see see look look? And roughly what price should be looking at? Thanks.
-
abit based on luck also. Nowadays fake and real are no longer easily differentiatable. I wouldn't say from other shops can be fake. some shops are very tough on discount, probably are waiting vultures. To the untrained eye u really can't tell. I would say just go ahead and buy.

Tank: - if seldom cook, tank gas is cheaper. Citygas charges a mthly fee even if u don't use. - also means u cannot do suspended cabinet - one cabinet space wasted - if worry abt staining, can buy those base especially made for this purpose, they even have a similar version with wheels. Citygass: - if freq cook, covenience. - I don;t like coz light cooker + mthly chargable fee.

no, but to shield off noise many methods: 1) thicker glass (dunno if allow) 2) the rim of the frame has a row of "hairy".. dunno what u call that. Basically when u shut the window, the hairy thing will prevent u from straight slambing metal to metal.

www.yellowpages.com.sg I come across a factory doing aluminum folding doors. or window grills. Anything relating to aluminum frame. Jit Sheng Aluiminum Pte Ltd Jimmy: 9029-0612 North Link Building Disclaimer: I'm not related to them in any way.
-
fastest is check yellowpages.com.sg they need one more info which is thickness... 4mm? 6mm? can just call and ask, no problem. I did that too. But didn't proceed due to glass too big, cannot enter lift.
-
thanks for your great summary. I think getting balast is also better. Imagine changing bulb frequently is no joke. I would suggest u consult other electrical shops, then u'll hear different story, then judge yourself.

Help Me See Quotation For My Bedok Brand New Hdb Unit
hihihi replied to big orange's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
Some comments: 1) u sure u wanna do ceramic tiles? Homo tiles is the in thing now. Saw an upgrade package. 2) cement screeding u can actually ask HDB do it for you for free, if u wanna do parquet, when collecting keys. 3) Kitchen, toilet and Bomb shelter are already tiled. 4) 10mm = 1cm glass door is very heavy, u sure? It's like opening bank door. Also doing swing, I doubt that place has enough allowance, will hit the bomb shelter door. Ya, better to have a proper breakdown rather than a 1 lump sum.
