Hi all, my bomb shelter door when I swing it open, it opens abit too freely. Today I used a tiny little bit of strength, the door swing open and hit something. *Bang* Is there some sort of "catcher" (dunno what's the name) to catch it? What I can imagine is a wire of a certain length that catches the door, prevents it from opening further. Is there something like that suitable for our holy bomb shelter?

Service yard: If u don't want grills, can don't install, it's your choice. Another thing is that service yard u can only do sliding window, cannot do casement, coz when u open will hit the metal bar (for drying clothes). yes. U can change the appt date. Conservancy fee starts the day u collect keys.

Thanks all. Rubine I have the cataloge, got it from Poh Joo.

www.austscreen.com, have a good read. I called and checked the prices, called 2x, different pple quote me slightly different price. Glass casement: ~$560 Frosted glass casement: ~$600+ (real sandblasted frosted, not paste frost sticker) Plastic sliding: ~$490 (price are net, included GST transport etc)
-
shower screen can also do sliding de for big size pple. darcbleu those blue and red stickers on the wall are indicating the conceal pipings. So that nobody go and drill something (basket, shelf etc) there. cacky MBR toilet, the sink can actually shift to the area just beside the door. There's a section of the wall which caves in.

if in doubt, just go for undermount, won't go wrong.

****, my contractor charged me $160/ft, while your is abt $145/ft
-
that is illegal but 9.99/10 pple does that. If using HDB tiles then good luck: $6/pcs. Can only run along the skirting. The specific HDB grills ruling only applies to SERVICE YARD. Other rooms can do whatever u like.

Help! Where To Put My Sofa?
hihihi replied to jackng1982's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
By that placement, that is already the least possible number of pple will pass thru. You don't get many pple happily walking to the entrance and back for no reason. The L shape living room is limiting some possibilities. If you want totally no pple cutting thru, the only way is to do it in a private room. -
Dry everything, then use whatever u can find: penknife, screwdriver, cutter, to remove the old yellow silicon. Then buy from supermarket or DIY shops new silicon in tubes. If u want nice nice, wear a glove, use finger to make the filling nicer. They have white colour or translucent like what u using now. Sink, pple don't change really change, unless u change back to the same model (if it's still available, buy some and stock in storeroom ). Coz u have to consider the hole size already cut into the kitchen top, and also the position of the drainage below that are already fixed. To me, top mount brings out the feeling of the sink, it becomes the center attraction. You can see the entire naked sink in stainless steel.

top mount, looks nicer to me bottom mount, more practical to me. water flows down.

Help! Where To Put My Sofa?
hihihi replied to jackng1982's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
(1) (3) (4) are not good, coz it's either u will see the glaring light from the window or the reflection from the window. (2) is ok, but I would suggest a "modified (2)". The sofa takes the current place of green TV. The TV place on the opposite wall. As below: -
Of coz they do. It's called pipe elbow:

My contractor got the $2/pcs floor tiles to do the fridge base, indeed that is expensive! But that's their problem, that price is already included into the cost of constructing the base. And WOW $6/pcs platinum-coated-made-in-japan ceramic floor tiles!!
-
ya, apply for a Personal Protection Order (PPO). Then u can call police if that guy comes near u.

cacky - basin is basically hang on the wall by a support on the wall, so got chance u can change and even relocate (maybe exposed piping coz floor cannot hack). - MBR toilet basin and Common toilet basin layout are different: --> MBR toilet basin if u do the square, possible, but careful don't eat into the already limited space shower space, if u planning to do shower screen. Unless u do a shower curb. Coz the space is abit tight. Shower space is right beside the basin. --> Common toilet square basin possible, but will be abit blocking the way. When u open the door, u see the basin, if u change to square, maybe more hindle. - toilet bowl totally cannot hack coz it's cement to the ground. Ground, being waterproofing done, 200% sure won't allow u to hack. Golden rule: floor, cannot hack.

This is their sole distributor.. http://www.happiness.com.sg

cacky The toilet and kitchen indeed comes with floor + wall tiles + basin + tap + mixer + shower head. Ya, the rule is 5yrs cannot hack, if u wanna do only way is overlay. mocchiBasin maybe can change, but bowl of coz cannot change coz it'll involves hacking. HDB original tiles u can buy from 220A the HDB office, was told the price was expensive. That is used to do fridge base etc.. to use back the same tiles. Or u can always choose a different tile, it's up to you. Remb to tell your contractor!!

(cement) sink support or (wooden) kitchen cabinet? sink support my current one is 34" from ground. New one is gonna do 35" high. Wanted to do 36" coz I'm 1.8m, but my wife is short 1.6m. She says 36" too high, but I think is ok. After some arguement, settle in between... 35".
