That top part of cabinet is a short one. So he has to weigh his remaining 10% versus changing only a portion of that top cabinet. Curious does anyone has gone thru Small Claims Tribunal due to renovation dispute?

I am thinking of Ikea's cheap frames. Take the plastic and dump the frame

Hacking Of Old Tiles Over Overlaying. Which Is Better?
hihihi replied to 79manz's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
I would say it's owner's responsibility to check the tiles. Since u now know what to check. Of coz as a contractor I would happily advice u to hack to earn more profit outta you. -
Urgent -- Console Can Still Be Shifted After Fix Up?
hihihi replied to star77's topic in Carpentry Works
in carpentry, anything is possible. Just that it involves time, effort and maybe money (transport and manhours). For your case it's pretty simple (to me). Basically they wack a slap of wood onto the wall and then screw your suspended console onto that wood slap. Just need to unscrew and adjust, re-screw. Touch up the holes. -
u can try this place. They don't only sell handles. http://www.shanghaitonglee.com.sg/

Hacking Of Old Tiles Over Overlaying. Which Is Better?
hihihi replied to 79manz's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
actually this qns was asked and answered many times. To quickly summarise: Restriction of overlay: HDB ruling of floor to ceiling min height not violated (otherwise no go)the original tiles has no hollow (otherwise chance of tile popping increase)where u overlay? If on wet area kitchen or toilet, then better not overlay coz waterproofing is not so good on overlaying. (consequence: popping, leaking into downstairs) -
normal wash and wear paint will do lah. No need those super glossy eproxy paint. go go go go jacky go... c'mon jacky go...

then how much is your tiling first? These 2 things are interlinked.

Dear herbman76, thanks, I recalculated roughly to be about 729sq ft, which is very near to my contractor's quote of 750sq ft. Initially I calculated by ruler measurement, not by numbers from the drawing. Think it's ok now. MBR => (5.1-0.3) x 3.3=15.84 (minus the ledge)Walkway => (4.2+0.3) x 1=4.5 (including an estimation of ~0.3m, little section between MBR entrance and end of walkway) $4.8k + $450 (haulage)

u have the dimension, why not ask your carpenter to cut the hole, then order online and fix yourself?

one man's meat is another's poison. My own experience, expensive is not necessary means good quality. My advice is: - don't choose those small small shop. If u can see it's a 1 or 2 man operation, that is a definite NO-NO. - don't be pressured into signing. - the term "ID" is being greatly abuse. Many small timers use ID in their names, but they are actually contractor in disguise. So never 100% trust what u see. - always ask to visit their existing works. If no works = no go. Best if u can speak to the owner themselves. Owner never lies.

Hi all, For those who are doing tiles for whole house. What is the area that your renovator quoted to you? Mine is quoted 750sq feet, but I calculated is about 660sq feet (excluding skirtings). Wanna survey first before banging the table. 97sq metre floor area --> 750sq feet tiles

Hi all, I'm into the final stage of renovation. But the kitchen cabinet that was delivered measurement was wrong. I would say it is a total design flop. They build the top cabinet protrude out the same length as the bottom cabinet. Standing at the cabinet is like knocking your head against the top cabinet. Just had a minor arguement with the renovator. He talks about money to change the cabinet design. Of coz I have enough evidence against him if he dare ask me to pay. Luckily the last 10% is still in my hands, and also the drawings clearly shows the top cabinet should be placed inner into the wall than the bottom. If he don't change, then no choice, can only see him in SCT.

sounds like IKEA.

Any Good Recommendations To Look For Kitchen Sinks?
hihihi replied to SYTan's topic in Home Furnishings
There are many many brands. More ex: Bellari Blanco ... many more More economy: Teka Berlin Rubine ... suggest if u got time, take a walk down Jalan Besar. There are many many shops there. I see the process as more like u choose the design then u select the brand, at least that is true for me. -
u can try those aluminum grills makers.. maybe they have spare just throw away.. AFAIK, there are also power coated aluminum doors, for application like bathoom bi-fold doors.

those external insurance companies who keep sending us the brochure to purchase their fire insurance (with free mini fire extinguisher) is paying also for the furnitures and electrical items, at a cost.

To Those Who Do Not Have A Storeroom At Home...
hihihi replied to jackng1982's topic in Living, Dining & Storage
I really dunno how pple live without a storeroom. Where do they hide their bulky items like vacuum cleaner? And I know some pple even keep food stuff (canned) inside their storeroom!! -
same here. Somehow they decided to install a stone-age flushing system with only 1 full flush, when dual flush is invented like donkey years ago.

s_mario read the posting by DSA below. The "metal box", u can slide open the top panel. There u will find the screws for adjustments.
-
Mine don't stay open even when fully opened. That metal thing above the door should keep the door close.

I accessed the MyHDBPage, and saw this: is it that my renovator didn't apply for renovation permit?
