Mine case I first got a quotation on various brands, then meet the salesman at my house to sign and also discuss the routing of the trunking, also for him to make measurements, but no payment. Payment is only made on the same day after the aircon was installed.

that is exactly what I am thinking. When the gate is closed, how is anyone able to lift up the gate and remove it (except incredible hulk). Ok, after removing the gate, there is still the wooden door. (need h.e.llboy this time). Unless someone knows your house has billions of dollars, why would anyone take so much effort to break in. ohh.. now I know who has billion dollar inside their house now

U buy your own sink, hob, hood, taps first, then let their carpenter do the measurement so that they will know how big the hole to cut and how much gap to leave. Buy your own stuff will be the cheapest option. When contractor bring u to buy, they also earned some commission behind the scene, nobody does things for free.

the most famous brand will be KDK. nowadays all various brands have remote option.

on brochure that is. That price tag is inclusive of men delivering the door and installing it, in brand new condition.

What To Use To Clean Joints Between Homogeneous Tiles?
hihihi replied to newhouse's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
anything that cleans the joints simply means that it is actually eating into the joints (i.e eroding the gouting). So I suggest just leave it. It'll get even worst later on anyway. It's a process of getting used to. -
me too also had a bad experience at Hoe Kee at Jalan Besar. The china dudes was frenly and nice though, it's that same toopid uncle that spoils it all. I just ask for discount then this went into somehow a bit of raise voice incident. He say he's not boss, saying me only buying a few items (already ~$400) and how is he supposed to ask his boss (isn't he the toopid boss?) for discount. Everyone knows those display prices are negotiable. Long story short, the china dude already took out the items from the store, I just simply walk out of the shop without buying anything and rather buy from the Tanjong Katong branch.

Quite siong task, and needs alot of time. What your fren say is true. Most of the time renovator just do whatever u tell them to do. Coz there's so many pple doing renovation, the easy way out is so tempting. First: - Hacking, if any - Wetworks (i.e Floor: tiles, parquet) Middle: - Electrical works: Light box, extra powerpoint etc (if u wanna do illegal stuff of burying wire under the floor, then it has to do before tiling) Last: - Painting 1st - Carpentry 2nd - Aircon install 3rd - Painting back to touchup (or u install aircon then paint also can) Last Last: - Window grills - Window - Doors: wooden, bifold, shower screens

Can Old Hdb Flat Have Aircon Compressors Installed?
hihihi replied to tskoh's topic in Electronics & Electricals
haven't seen b4, dunno allowed or not. But that steel bracket is pretty strong, can hold the weight of the installer (~60-70KG) + another compressor (~60Kg). -
My existing resale house toilet has no door frame, coz my toilet was hacked and redo, probably they knew I'll be doing bi-fold (from quotation) and removed it during reno. My new house, toilet is done by gahment, dunno how many years cannot hack, so the door frame is still there. Therefore my deduction is that if your toilet was hacked and redo, then the door frame will most likely be removed too.

Ur ID is so good. Mine was the opposite, top cabin done too deep until your face can kiss the cabin. I had to argue and raise voice before he finally agree to ask his carpenter whether ok to change (ya, he didn't agree). But finally they changed it. Really pissed me off

do note that the bigger the capacity, the wider will be the drum, means that u need more water to fill up the drum.

Remember old style rubbish chute is bulged out something like a dustpan shape? so it's actually easier for the thrower, don't have to crawl in. New style rubbish chute are flushed to the wall, which looks nice. And it's made that way for a purpose: To be exposed/shown (i.e not to be hidden inside sink support). This design makes it MORE difficult to dump things, u have to crawl in further into the sink support to throw stuff.
-
eh, the most talk abt curtain maker is Jxxx Txxx. (cannot advertise, but can google below) If they die die don't do, perhaps can ask them to refer u to other shops that they know. http://www.google.com.sg/search?hl=en&...xtile&meta=

the sofa seller can make for you (normally at a higher cost). Or u can find those curtain makers. Cost is not cheap, from few hundreds to thousands is possible.
-
msia has alot of water filters. easily available in hypermart.
-
It's either the wall is not flat or aircon is not flat.
-
old style chute and sink support are all done that way. Only complain is having to squat down and almost have to crawl inside to the sink support to throw rubbish. So width of sink support is also important. Yeah, u will need to discuss the various heights and distance with your renovator. 1) Sink support ~36" (include or exclude the 2" base?) 2) Choose a suitable depth of sink 3) Single-Bowl, 1+3/4 bowl or double-bowl sink. Will the bowl block your access to the chute?

with the gate in its closed position, I wonder how can anyone lift up the gate and steal it away. the $60 is Pian Jia one?

I just checked my fridge, indeed there's the usual legs + wheels. If I don't recall wrongly, when my fridge first came, they roll it in first, then screw the legs to jack up the whole fridge. So that eventually the fridge rest on the legs, the wheels are abit suspended.

for my case, I only found out too late that the shop which I dealed with doesn't have enough resources as compared to larger ones. They only have so little contacts of sub-cons. And being small timer, that lousy shop couldn't control his sub-con. And yes, without big reputation to care about, they can actually hack care in their job. And from 2 small timer quotes that I've got, they seems to charge higher due to no economy of scale. That's my own experience. At the end of the day, it's still a "Luck" thingy. Some pple had trouble with reputable ones, while others are happy with small timers.
