  1. Car hindges normally uses only grease. Better change your car!! we're talking abt the service yard the metal poles for hanging clothes, not the aircon ledge. that is a 15A power socket for 2nd aircon, casement type maybe. Some pple use that for 3+1 system. WD40 will leave a protective layer, but that won't last. That's why soon after use, metal parts will rust again.
  2. it's dust + rust. How to clean? sandpaper!
  3. Bifold cost only like $180 to $2xx. The bifold needs its own metal frame, it can attach to existing metal/wooden frame or u can remove the existing frame and just put the new bi-fold's frame (surrounding tiles will of coz be affected when u remove existing frame). The pple doing the bi-fold normally won't remove the old frame for you, it'll be the job of the renovator. The bi-fold pple just come and install and go.
  4. since their starting price is so ex, probably u can test them saying u supply the hooks, they supply labour to install. My guess is they will still quote a high price for labour. note that there're 2 colours, aluminum silver, or bronze colour.
  5. that promo price is for show only. U goto any shop, they can give u cheaper than that price, not only ID. Pass thru ID, they sure take a cut.
  6. do you have Philips SpotOn motion sensing light?
  7. normally it's true. Your not-true case might be the water tank is directly above the unit. Therefore not so obvious.
  8. if cash flow is ok, then do it now. 6mths later, even though raw material cost may comes down abit, but still, the benefit will take a longer time to tickle down to the end user. Renovator maybe fighting for business, but quality maybe sacrificed also. 6mths later you will be inconveniened by the things that you bought... etc etc.. My take it to do it now.
  9. xiaoxiao1234 I got mine from Poh Joo, it is definitely one of the cheapest.
  10. simplelives if u give them the dimension over the phone, they can prepare before hand and just come and put all the pieces together. Mine was done in this way <20mins.
  11. the drain pipe is located directly behind the neck of the basin, it's an L-elbow connection.
  12. quality is good, but very pricey. There u will not find anything that is made of compressed wood or chip wood. All are solid wood.
  13. IKEA has a light which is for casement door-type wardrobe, so far haven't seen any for sliding door. Motion sensing, u can go for Philips SpotOn, available at most supermart ShengSiong etc, it should also work for sliding since it's sensing motion. Also good that it's using battery, no need to worry abt short circuit burning down the wardrobe/house. <S$20 http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SpotOn-Motio...e/dp/B000X92EG6
  14. my estimation is minimum 30k, so the quotation you've got for $34k is a really very realistic figure. I would say this is consider cheap with the amt of carpentary you've got.
  15. DSA, thanks, I'm lacquering wooden shelf.
  16. basic: 1) hollow tiles. 2) paint job touch up ok? 3) carpentry, sharp corners? any gaps need to silicon sealed? 4) Electrical work, turn it ON, no tripping, no burning smell, no fire 5) plumbing works, no leaking water. 6) Locks (window, door), ok? sliding ok? lock can open close properly?
  17. 1) age of aircon? 2) ask aircon serviceman to come and check?
  18. snowman it's abit late since u had already lay your living rm floor tiles. But since you are doing a bartop counter there, then the slope wouldn't be that obvious. It is possible to minimise by slope difference by wet laying the tiles, but it will not 100% get rid of it. And it's very difficult to do, need good Kungfu. Another way is to make a low curb (~1 tile height) on the intersection, that will make it totally not obvious. Question.... Anyone knows where in our neighbourhood is selling Lacquer? (for painting wood). Not spray type, I'm looking for painting type. thanks.
  19. I haven't tune, probably can't tune for this TV. Coz still using old TV with a faded remote control.
  20. u won't see the effects of invertor if u rarely use the equipment. Invertor only help u saves for rather frequent usage. That's why I'm asking for fridge, which is always ON. But it's a good thing to hear that the price difference wasn't very great.
  21. will it reduce the energy consumption?
  22. normally door frame paint chocolate brown. don't need to match the surrounding.
  23. your usage pattern needs inverter more savings.
