Hi, I would like to know how much r we required to pay for having getting those hinges & stoppers from Blum? We requested ID to include for our shoe cabinets, kitchen cabinets & dresser. So would like to know roughly how much does it cost? hehe...

Although I'm quite disappointed with the actual kitchen measurements, we will still need to accept it. On the happy side, we do have some other drawings that we like (p/s: poor image & pen markings):- TV Feature Wall + Console + Elevated Platform Since this is the initial drawing, we have also make some amendments to it. Let's imagine tt the TV console is suspended (w/o the white base bottom), cabinets using black glass. As for the feature wall, let's imagine that all black portion are tinted mirror with each plank of mirror seperated by a white laminate. This white laminate is a shiny, pearl white type. Finally, our feature wall & tv console should be able to give a classic / modern feeling.. Full-height Shoe Cabinet This is already the revised copy of the new shoe cabinet... Original shoe cabinet is quite normal. Hence, we requested ID to think of a new design. We like this new design very much. The settee can be adjusted when we need it. But later, we discovered tt there is pipe at tt corner, hence, we'll have to forgo this idea. The white laminate that we are using is the same as what we r using for the feature wall. MBR Dresser & Suspended BedFrame It looks really nice to us. We loved the colour combinations of the lollipop & black paint. But after second thoughts, the lollipop paint make not be so soothing to our eyes in the long run. So we decided to choose other colours. Paint of colours for MBR is actually Cultural Pearl & Lavender Mist as indicated in previous posting. ID proposed to put glass with flourescent tube in the bedhead. We r imagining how it'll look like. since we hav no intention to buy side tables, ID so-call dig a hole for my hubby at the side of the bedhead (the rectangular black). Enabling hubby to put his hp/alarm clock... Creative... MBR Wardrobe & TV console & Feature Wall This can be considered the second amendments. However, ID's draftman use wrong materials on the wardrobe. Hence the above pics is not the actual wardrobe we r getting. Our wardrobe is mainly black glass & tinted mirror. Each sliding door will hav a square tinted mirror n it is fixed in such a way tt it will be diagonally aligned with the other tinted mirror on the next sliding doors. Hence, we would be expecting a total of 4 tinted mirror. As for the top & bottom of the sliding doors, ID proposed to use black glass... By right, we need to top up additional... finally, he told us FOC for the black glass. Great!!! Feature wall is normal but we also like its simplicity. We have chosen a black leathery, anti-scratch -type laminate plus tinted mirror in between. We have also included a pull-down drawer to conseal the wires. All-in all, i think our house is designed base on three colours, black, white & grey.. and made up of glassy, mirror effect. We really hope it can turn out well.. This is our biggest investment in our life. By the way, next week we will proceed to paint paint job.. so excited to c if the colours selected can be able to match our expectation!!

Need Advice We need help & advice now. Managed to dig out our old initial 3D drawings. We would like to know for a family of 3, how many kitchen cabinets do we need?? We have a problem now. Below is the initial drawing from ID. (p/s: sorry for the poor image and my pen markings on the drawings). Based on floorplan, we would expect our kitchen cabinets to be as similar to the below pics. However, we received information from carpentor that actual measurement on site revealed that we are not able to accommodate so many kitchen cabinets anymore. In fact, we have to remove the below cabinets (crossed out):- I'm quite upset over it.. Not very sure how come the 3D drawings will deviate so much from actual. Wat I'm worried now is the reduction in storage area. (P/s: The breakfast counter cabinets remained. But width is smaller than the normal 60cm. According to ID, its only 40cm. Can someone advise us if storage area (kitchen cabinets & breakfast counter cabinets would still be sufficient for a family of 3 adutls? And not sure if it will turn out well wif such a small scale kitchen...

Clearing the Air Well, its a misunderstanding... ID did not mix up the laminates... Its my hubby who misunderstood wat ID was referring to?? n hence wrong message was translated to me... OMG.... I called the ID to confirm... earlier... so everything is cleared! finally, i can be rest assured tt everything is still under control.

Hi Gosaldar, Reading the postings, it seems tt they r good in offering competitive prices but delivery wise not so prompt. How abt u? U bought from there before? I went to Furniture Mall, Sungei Kadut & TradeHub21 & IMM... I'm actually looking for a 9f long L-shape sofa type (canvas type). And wat they r offering is more than 2K. I need to meet my budget of 1.2K ... so we r still sourcing..

Confused... ID called hubby to verify on the laminate for TV Feature wall... He told us tt we chose all black... But we had chosen white & black... he has already copied the laminated code in the 3D drawings ma. we had it discussed last sat and I still rem tt the white laminate is the same code as the white laminate which we had chosen for shoe cabinet... die... really scared if he had really mixed up the laminate codes in the drawings. we din managed to make a copy either... so cant verify too.. wanted a copy now but he has already passed to the carpentor.. anyone took back the 3D drawings indicating all the laminates code portion by portion?

yup. i saw urs.. really not a bad idea... at first was thinking if it might b too dark for living room.. i lup ur tv console & feature wall too!! wat's the length of ur tv console? i wan to imagine hw big will be mine. mine is 7ft.

Met up with ID last Sat to select the paints for our house... Stone Cave - Color for the wall behind feature wall. Rose White - Balance walls in living room as propose by FS master. Purple Lint - Color for the kitchen wall. Lavender Mist & Culture Pearl - Color for MBR. Dainty Pink & Orchid White - Color for Sis-in-law bedroom. Sungod & Orchid White - Color for Study room. Glossy Paint for common toilet pipe to match the wall tiles. Proposed by Hubby... Glossy Paint for MBR toilet pipe to match the wall tiles too........

Hi LittleDevil, Such a coincidence. we had e same WC, Baron. However, we bought it at Jalan Besar @ $270. we bought 2. now renovation is still in progress. hence, on hold delivery first.

Just to add-on below:- Are we suppose to buy a plastic bag to conceal this hanging wires? or it shd be provided by the installation company? We will be carrying out painting works next week. Fan coil will only be installed after painting work. One last doubtful point.. The aircon man did not tied the compressor to the ledge. Wat happens if the compressor drop??? My hubby asked me. I hav no answer. But I called them up n they told me tt they wld tie only when they are installing the fan unit. Isnt it funny? hai... Finally, my uncle was asking me to ask them to provide wat HDB form to ensure tt in any case the compressor wasnt installed correctly and causes it to fall off from my unit, we will not be liable. Is there such thing? I called them but they said no need. Stainless steel ledge dun need to provide such form. Such rule? hai hai.... Anyway, we have made an appointment to meet up on Sunday to discuss further. I jus hope tt they wont tell me its norm to hav such flaws. Please advise criticially if u hav faced similar problems so tt I can be assure tt such problems are norms. i dun wish to argue wif them since they are recommended by colleague... Windows Not Installed Properly We changed the balcony windows... The windows ledges were not able to shut down smoothly. Anyway, we called ID up and request him to check tomorrow. But we need to confirm laminate again & carpentory.

Disappointed with Aircon Installation Aircon installation was carried out last Fri. Only Hubby was around during the installation. But he left half-way thru.. Had high expectation as it was highly-recommended by colleague. But it turned out not to our expectation. or rather we are strict wif such insignificant problems. Is it inevitable or are we too strict wif the installation? Pardon me for the poor pics & explanation. Aircon man drilled a whole in MBR toliet tiles and caused the tiles to crack. Shdn they estimate and drill it on a single piece of tile? This hole is exactly in between of 4 tiles which caused the corners of 4 tiles to crack. Hai... wat to do? I cant compromise to this. But ID was really good. We told him abt it and he help us willingly. He'll ask tiler to check on the possibility to change. If changing of tiles will affect more defects in other tiles, then we'll just need to fill the hole n tolerate its "ulgy-ness" for the next few yrs. I'm sure everyone will be familar with this. Hubby has been complaining of this ugly thing in the room. He wanted to ask if it is possible to BOX-UP. But I rejected this idea. I dun think anyone will do box up for this place lor. Anyway, I'm nt complaining abt this whole chunk of unpleasant looking stuff. Can someone tell me if the wooden block used to cover up shd align exactly with the whole squarish area?? Mine wasnt aligned accurately at the bottom... Is it becos the trunking at the bottom was slanted in the first place to allow water to flow into the toilet? Then y wasnt it cut & place it accurately? Is it common? Trunking to trunking not even. Able to visualise? This is definitely not to my standard.

Hi, hw come u din choose tiles wif ur ID? He's suppose to give u plenty of ideas on wat tiles to mix n match. furthermore, yr renovation package shd hav included yr tiles selection budget ($**/psf). so its better to check wif ur ID. He also need to help in co-ordinating the delivery of tiles to yur place right? Me too, all tiles selected at SBH. They have a wide range of tiles. ID also brought us to another tile shop ; Hafary. But we din managed to select any.

hi, huh. u sound so scary. wat carpentory work did u actually include? the 3D drawings are actually passed to owner rite? and we did go thru the details n we saw tt he wrote the laminates code down on the 3D drawings. we din took back e drawings after the second amendment. u mean to add in the soft closure need to add so much $$$? yeah, a bit bo hua ler.

Nice layout, although living room has a slanted sided corner. We did patronised U-Home @ IMM. But its a uncle who attended to us and he wasnt professional. Its seems to me tt he's only keen at closing the deal. Keep offering us additional free gifts n also commented tt if we return back to him to close the deal, he'll offer us a secret pressie... Hubby was afraid tt it may b a fraud. Hence, we decided to drop them w/o giving them a chance to provide quotation. But reading yours, it seems tt they'r efficient. We seems to make a mistake to forgo their chance... anyway, wish u good luck n hope to c more pics too!!!

Further updates again. Common & MBR Toilet windows replaced... Nice windows! Better view of of MBR toilet.. The contrasting colours of beige & black is a nice combination indeed. Kitchen floor tiles... with the base tiles. Looking forward to my open concept kitchen! Had discussion wif ID. Decided to have a 3' Dresser in MBR & 2' vanitytop in MBR Toilet. hee... additional cost again...

Hi Bun Bun, We r also not sure. But since he said tt its ok, then we will juz follow lor. FS master commented tt Black belong to water colour while red belong to fire colour. We wanted to have Bright red n black in the bedroom. According to FS, hubby is able to choose red colour for walls in the hse but not too bright as it will burnt us! But it is Ok for us to mix Black with Bright red.. since water colour will tone down the over-fired colour. Thanks. I also luv the final selection of our mosiac. Hi Darkangel, Yup. I knw its common to hav delays. No choice lor, in order to achieve the best outcome/result, I guess all of us hav to wait patiently. Wow, u waited for 3 mths?? I tot on the average, major overhaul is ard 2mths?? since when did u start ur renovation? Can guide me how to keep close eye?? wat to take note? I tot Johnny will ask their carpentor to follow wat was drawn in the 3D? Like tt, still can go wrong arg?? Btw, did you choose glossy laminate for your carpentory? I wanted to. But Johnny suggested to choose matt type. So ended up, choose matt types for all.. actually, glossy looks nicer than matt type ler...

Hubby went up to our new hse earlier. Mosiac for MBR is finally tiled and grouted. According to ID, toilets windows will be be replaced tmr as well. This is the shower area... Black wall tiles with Shimmering silver mosiac. This is the basin & toilet bowl area. Beige wall tiles with Black mosiac as shown in e previous posting. Closer look of mosiac & tiles combinations!!! Hubby commented tt the beige & black mosiac appeared to be more attractive then the other. I cant comment on it as I din get to c the "actual masterpiece". Judging fr the pics, it seems tt they are equally nice. Nevermind, I'll get to c them soon... Will be meeting ID again on Thurs to confirm the paint colours as well as lighting points. Shall update again once we confirm on the colours... I prefer bright colours for living but dark colours for bedrooms, hubby prefer dark colours. But once again, FS Master suggested us to go for e below colours after considering our ba zhi:- Me : Metallic, Gold, White & Beige (I can only use this colours in Kitchen). Hubby: Yellow, Purple, Green, Brown, Dark Grey, Rose White, Red , Pink (Bedrooms & Living Room) Prohibited Colours; Black, Light Grey, Blue & bright colours. But FS master said tt, its ok for us to mix Bright Red with Black in our bedrooms as the black will tone down the bright red. Did anyone know of this logic? We'r nt sure too.

Its time to update the progress of renovations as tiling work is coming to an end soon. According to reno schedule, tiling shd be completed by this week. Just an update, finally, we din select any of the above listed mosiac.. thanks to ID. He knew tt we cant make up our mind. He took the trouble to help us find another mosiac which is able to satisfy our individuals preferences. I prefer black mosiac, Hubby prefer shimmering shiny mosiac. Finally, we agreed to use the below mosiac for our MBR toilet. An extra mile of service by ID help to save this couple from arguing. Anyway, ID said tt if we continue to argue, he can only handover the hse to us in 2009. hahaha.... Its a fact tt everyone is made differently... Both of us have been debating over almost all issues from selection of tiles, mosiac, laminate to even the colour of the paint...... I think ID also cant stand us... whahaha... Though this is the tough-est project i hav ever came across, we believe tt we shd be able to walk thru it... Wish us Luck in smooth renovation process... Back to the renovation progress, updates as per below:- 1. MBR Toilet - Tiles not yet grouted, Mosiac delivered but not yet tiled & Windows not replaced. 2. Met up with ID yesterday n told him tt of the replacement of the blur-milky orange tiles.. He called tiler immmediately and requested them to replace... After which, we did some discussion on some other outstanding matters..... Later we went site-seeing wif him to other owners flat before we proceeded to his office to make some changes in the 3D drawings... Its a tiring day. But we benefited much much.. after confirming many details. Few days back, Johnny asked us if we wanted to change the windows in both toilets. After discussion, we decided not to change becos we need to control cost. Its not cheap ler.... Just two small windows, n it cost abt $400plus. So we told him to remain. But yesterday, surprisely, he called tiler to tell them to hack the tiles as we need to change the windows... We asked him why change since we have decided not to go ahead.. Then then, he said he will FOC the windows....becos the ugly windows will not go well wif the nicely nicely n pretty toilet.... Hooray.... Kudos to him!!!! Later part of the day, we started talking abt FOC items... Finally, we managed to get the below FOC:- - Glass Panel **** Room - Glass Backing at Kitchen Worktop upgrade to Tinted Mirror wif no add cost - Settee at Shoe Cabinet - Upgrade MBR Toilet bi-fold door to Glass Door at no add cost So satisfied with our results... in just 1 day, we manage to get so many FOCs. actually, we wanted to negotiate for other FOC things, but Johnny said he will hav to da-bao bag n escape soon....wahwahha

Hi Queen, my renovation cost is ard $42K. Basically, your cost may be lower because of smaller area and original package price for 4-rm is already cheaper than our package price. You can check the I-deal Hse web for the package price... After tt, any additional cost will varies wif wat you wan to do (such as wardrobe, shoe cabinet, feature wall etc).
