1 pointOne of the ID that I've contacted just now said the painting might looks different on walls due to reflection of sunlight, thus, it is impossible to have exactly same color.. I wonder how true is that?

1 pointThe journey of securing my 4 room resale flat started after I accompanied my fren on her house hunting trip in early Jan this year. Was ''targeted'' by her agent and one month later, I managed to secure the OTP for a 4 room flat in the North east and hence started my lifetime liability for the next 25 years... Finally after waiting for almost 4 - 5 months, I finally got the keys to my flat in July.... Like most people here, I went to a couple of Ids to get quotes... but in the end, i decide to go for workmanship and decided to use a contractor for my renovation. His prices are ID prices... but since he is my fren's relative, i trust that I am in a pair of safe hands. Well, it is still too early to tell now, but so far, the workmanship for the projects that he did was quite good..so i hope that mine will turn out fine... the only con is that there is no 3d and basically i am designing this house myself..... trying to achieve a clean scandi (or modern mid century look) ... getting rather confused ... haha Oh i am doing getting an ID to do the carpentry for my kitchen, shoe cabinet and wardrobes.. cos my contractor's price for internal pvc is not very competitive and this is a must have for me

1 pointHey everybody! After reading many of the forums here on Renotalk, I'm extremely pleased to say that it is finally my turn to do my renovation. My flat: Buangkok Vale @ Buangkok Green Size: 4 room A short story on my flat: Actually keys to the flat were given out in March 2013, but I had just then filed for a divorce with my ex-husband. Finally obtaining my legal documents from the Courts in June, I made an appeal to HDB to retain the flat with my name and my son's name, and after 1 year of struggling with non-responses from HDB, i have just only collected my keys to the flat in early August. After doing the necessary rites and etc, here are some pics of my flat! (1 year worth of dust on the floor has already been swept and mopped!) The main hall (ignore unused trash bag) The view from the window: Collage of the rooms and corridor: And one last one of my cheeky happy boy... More to come on my ID choice next post!

1 pointHi, is anyone using a projector screen in your living room instead of a TV? My apt is a 1BR condo, my living area and master bedroom is facing each other, separated by a sliding wall. so i cannot mount a tv in my living room wall since then the sofa will be against the sliding wall. Im thinking of fixing a projector screen instead, between living room and bedroom. projector will be in living room. 1) When there are guests, i will close up the sliding wall, lower the screen and project on it, front projection. 2) When Im in my bedroom i can do rear projection, and watch from my bed. Is this feasible? Thanks!

1 pointOh my... Please accept my sincere apologies everyone.. It really has been such a long time since I took refuge in this cosy little e-space and had myself some "me-time"... Now that I am here again, I am overcome with a strange content feeling that makes this feel like I'm coming back home. 3RD DAY OF LEONJENNAWONG CARPENTRY! Third day of carpentry installation!! Wasting no time at all and jumping straight into the main dish, I will once again, provide unmistakably BIG sub-headers to caption my photos as I go along... Enjoy... CEILING BEAMS @ DINING AREA - My beloved ceiling beams are up!OH YESSSSSS! Now if only I could reach the ceiling beams, I would caress each one of them gently.. All the while patiently, and softly whispering to each of them on my long arduous journey of how I managed to convince CFO to allow me to get them.. The beautiful ceiling beams... I am in love once again, ladies and gentlemen. I truly madly deeply am.. Oh ya, my babies are not complete yet, still need to plaster and paint white. Yep. Hahahaha... Here are two photos of my babies.. All 17x of them... Hehehehe... As you can see from the above picture, kitchen entrance glass door is also installed! Still awaiting the veneer-wrapped wooden handle... Another angle of my beloved ceiling beam babies... SHOE CABINET INSTALLATION (Cont'd from 1st Day) - Finally completed!! VERTICAL BEAM WITH SHELVES - Minor touch up by #CalvinTan and his team to open a squarish hole for a new electrical outlet point... In the meantime, I'm still sweating on the future decoration ideas for these 2 shelves... 3-METRE LONG SIDEBOARD JOINING LINE CLOSE-UP - Here is a close-up of the joining line between the two seperate 1.5 metre-long carpentry pieces! Tell you honestly, at first the join-line was quite perforated and left me feeling a little bit surprised that #CalvinTan provided such carpentry quality especially when everything else has been quite perfect for me... In the end I messaged him about it in the WhatsApp group chat (with CFO & #Edgar too!) and the conversation went like this (word-for-word copy from the WhatsApp chat... Hahaha...): LeonJennaWong: "the joining line of the sideboard at the back of the living hall seems quite perforated... Got sth u can do to make the finish better?"#CalvinTan: "Sideboard table top already asked carpenter replace, failed!"LeonJennaWong: "Wao Lao best. You are **** good. Goody goody" Hahahaha... Once again happy & vindicated in our decision to have engaged this guy.. Who seems to be living up to his notorious smelly reputation of being a super "ngiao" ID in the peaceful streets of Sungei Kadut... To Be Continued...

1 pointDum Dum DUUUUUUUUM!! Ladies and Gents, may I present.... THE DUNGEON! *cue wild applause and merry making* I'm super chuffed with it! It's not completed yet. They still have the door to add. Not to mention they will be welding on flat bars of steel over the border areas to make it pop more, and then adding on rivets on top of that to complete the piece. After that will be the touches of paint to add a bit of age and roughen the look up a bit. Currently the edges all have gaps, generously contributed by the famous irregular surfaces of a HDB flat. Of course I can't just blame the flat. Even the panels lines between the panels have gaps but these will all be sealed up so that my aircon won't leak out. The edges to the walls will be with Cornice plaster, and the bits between the metal will be with silicon. So so SO happy!! Have i mentioned that I'm totally in love with it? I'm totally in love with it!

1 pointNow moving on to my Shabby Chic theme which I am hoping to achieve! Why Shabby Chic? I love love whites and light pastels! Kind of influenced by Europe and Rachel Ashwell. Things which are old but not retro. Things which has a distressed look. SO you can foresee, my EM will be drenched in white Not sure how I am going about my shabby chic theme but these are the moods which I have searched on.
