1 pointI am choosing colours now for my house. My contractor says I can get 5 + 1 colours. 5 being any colours in the normal Nippon catalog and +1 is actually ceiling white (Matex). I wanted my walls to be pure white too, but was told by him that for pure white, only Matex have. If I want those 3 in 1 kind they don't have pure white but instead shades of white. Is that true?

1 pointBathtubs, associated with prestige, are no longer just for a niche market. With the wide range of types, lengths and prices, everyone can now enjoy some good comfort in their home. Here are our tips on How to Select your Bathtub. *click to enlarge images Now you are ready to pick the type of Bathtub that is perfect for your space: Built-in – Built-in Tubs are Bathtubs that are most familiar, they rely on a 3-wall enclosure where the bathtub is recessed into a concrete base. --> Advantages: Built-in Tubs come in a wide range of lengths, typically from 1400mm all the way to 1900mm! They are space-saving and cost-friendly, prices from $595 are available in the market. Drop-in – Drop in Tubs are a hybrid of Built-in Tubs and Free-standing Tubs because they allow for their own customized boxes and they are more commonly installed in open spaces. They cost slightly more than Built-in Tubs. --> Advantages: Drop-in Tubs allow for creative customization and have a more integrated effect. Free-standing – Free-standing Tubs or Pedestal Bathtubs are about open spaces. There are many styles to select from-- from modern, to classic, to vintage-- these Bathtubs are just gorgeous! They are available in lengths starting from 1400mm. It is possible to find Free-standing Bathtubs in the market that look much more than they cost though keep in mind that Free-standing Bathtubs are investment pieces and they should come with a proper warranty period and added advantages. A brand worth the mention is Victoria + Albert. V+A bathtubs are made with volcanic limestone, which is a more durable material allowing scratches to be prevented or easily polished in the case of improper handling. Its natural stone properties allow for water to be kept warmer 3x longer than the average bathtub. --> Advantages: Free-standing Tubs are elegant, dramatic and luxurious! They are investment pieces. Corner – Corner Tubs, were once thought to be space-guzzlers, however they have definitely evolved in size and functions. They are available from single-usage tubs sizes that are only 1140mm! --> Advantages: Corner Tubs fit nicely into your corner, allowing single-usage applications. Congratulations! With this new understanding, you are now equipped to purchase your ideal bathtub. For more tips and inspiration visit our website at www.equip-bathrooms.com and our FACEBOOK PAGE Equip-Bathrooms. 1 pointHiya, I will start my renovation of my old condo soon. Taking in quotations from my friends, I find that renovation cost for condos seems to be much higher than HDB. For example, a friend of mine was quoted $50+K for her 1,400 sq ft HDB while I was quoted $130K+. Granted that the big differences are that I have a patio and carpentry works, but the difference seems unjustified. Am I the only one feeling this disparity? Any one can shed light? Cheers

1 pointHi bros, I know that everyone knows that red apple is rotten but i think not all of us knows that Mode Studio is actually totally the same as Rotten Apple, same useless management, same poor sales service,Carry the same low grade furniture from the same factory and sell them at premium price. calling their man made leather as cowhide leather, their mdf wood as solid wood, and their normal glass as tempered glass.. and the worse of all is their alway late delivery, i mean very late delivery When you buy at their shop is simply buying a shirt at Paragon paying a premium price but actually the shirt can be buy at bugis street. So this is just an awareness to bros in singapore not to be cheated. it will be good if someone will Stomp on them and create awareness of their wrong doing. A very sad victim Dampier

1 pointHi,It is sad to see more and more disappearing gardens in landed. Maybe a solution is to plant low-shedding tree(s)? Tree is amazing. Just feel the leaves of a tree under the blaze of a hot afternoon sun, they are cool to touch. Just my 2-cents though. Cheers!

1 pointDO NOT buy light from taobao, 1. Voltage difference. All lights from China designed for 220V, but SG is 230V 2. No Safety label on the light means no safety guarantee. 3. No PUB endorsement, means it was not tested by PUB. BTW, I bought one from taobao last Jun, cannot use any more now.

1 pointI was asked by my designer to top up $3k in Architectural fees as URA advice to convert my A&A application into recon due to bother line additional GFA increase. Is it reasonable? I was told that there is more drawing and details to be submitted to authorities for recon over a&a to justify for more service fees. Can anyone advice me?

1 pointMake sure you get plumbers who know hansgrohe products. You can call the distributor for recommendation. My id plumber damaged them because they didn't know how to install.

1 pointTry chatting with the seller and request for a delivery to the particular address, provided it is within the city. They may charge you for shipping though but normally is quite low.

1 pointHave a 30 over years experienced contractor (Bao Ga Liao). Ever engaged him to do up my 5rm CCK flat last Dec. Given me his ideas n views along the way. So far all my requests fulfill n expectations met. Now my house is truly a dream home. Practical to use n pleasant to look at, even my inlaws planned to use them. Me, myself is still in contact with him as I foresee I will need him again one day. He is currently busying with a condo project which should end around Feb-Mar. Even HDB engaged him at times when certain projects need his expertise. Can give you his details if u need. His mobile: 91083681 (Mr Wong) Hereby wishes everyone has a wonderful Reno experience like I had! Cheers!! 🍻

1 pointI think should not be a problem but the ah neh actually collect it and sell to garang guni. So, if we want, we have to buy from them. I saw a big piece of tempered glass, the size about 2m by 1m. Its inside the rubbish chute. I think they collected it and put it there, ready to sell. But they never lock the rubbish chute. So i wondered if anyone can just go in and take.

1 pointI just chanced upon this thread now. Hope it is not too late to share my experience. When I was renovating my flat 3 months back, I didn't have a clue how city gas heater works. What I did was to give City Gas a call, and they provide good customer service. Immediately, they get a technician to call me, fix an appointment to visit the site which was still hacking in progress. I seek his opinion how the gas heater works, and best location to install the heater tank. This technician can give good advices. Then, I place my order and when the wall tiles are ready at the location where I would place the gas heater, I arrange for them to come down to do the installation. As I am also using gas cooker, I also arranged for them to come one more round to do the gas connection once my renovation is almost 99% complete, to hook up the gas supply to both heater and cooker. You can visit my reno t-blog where I have penned the chronological account of activities during the whole renovation, and you can roughly estimate when you need to call them up. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?s=...st&p=601836

1 pointhere want to share a not opened secret for the best alkaline water filter. yes, the alkaline water do have the following features: but pls it's only for the water produced by water ionizer with good electro-plates and with ionic memebrances. currently in the market, there are many chemical alkaline water, which wont help for you health but spoil your body. 1) world smallest water molecule clusters 2) energised water(means water has energy contents) 3) anti-oxident and anti aging 4) natural disinfecting property 5) PH 8 and above (alkaline) 6) rich in minerals (large component of ionic calcium) 7) remove chlorine 8) suitable for all ages and the biggest secret is the jupiter, enagatic, and diamond etc, any brands who suppply water ionizer with more then 2000dollars is the huge profit plunders. actually their cost for one units wont over 400 dollars. we know a water ionizer manufacturer, they supply the original new water ionizers at 200 dollars only. i've taken more than ten pieces from there, and they quality seems really good. i think most of the families deserve to take one! the web link of this company is www.homay.cn but pls do talk with the one who are really have the rigth to make decistions, they will give you big supprise maybe!

1 pointok, there are retailers who try to cut corners to save $$. eg. they offer you system 3 at (est) $3.4k, generally the air-con mfgr specs will specify wat type of material to use, eg. for insulation, piping, etc. so they cut corners by finding something that qualify for the specs technically but the material could be inferior made or from china. no offence and biased against china products but some are like backyard plant where these products are of low quality, eg. no QC, R&D etc. these will be called alternative offer products in constrn line. so frm there, they can save coz they order in big bulk. eg. bulk order of armflex vs 'alternative products', juz imagine hw much they able to save! basically, for (eg.) $3.4k system 3, you are paying for armflex, and not any other alternative products, why would you settle for less? from my understdg, for this price, it can offer armflex, kflex etc already. whether its condo or HDB, residential air-con basically all the same. SO DO NOT SETTLE FOR LESS, unless they give you 2sets of system 3 at $3.4k the above is commercial reason. technical reason is that if you should use alternative inferior quality products, next time if got leakage, condensation, product deteriorte and require changing, den you will hv a big headache. a vy simple way to differentiate is to touch and feel both the products. i don't know the grey type is it the type i seen b4, coz i ever seen the grey type of insulation which feels like foam. cannot make it to my requirement and std. and also dun be bluff by retailers. air-con trunkings can be hidden in hdb units as well if one do hv cabinet, false ceiling etc. condo is becoz ppl pay $ for nice nice architect design which must incorporate the ultimate ***** different from other condos. usually theirs are not really concealed also. juz imagine if fully concealed, den if got leakage, hw? hack the whole false ceiling? the owner will sue the management until they die man... coz spend so much $ to buy hazzle condo meh? its juz dat in condo, the architect & m&e consultant had design the air-con routing nice nice already. if for those vy ex condo, their air-con are bigger size type, eg. VRV system (these are known as ducted unit) where ducting is used. different from split units.
