Just curious, how long after you stayed at a place will you think of redoing the reno again? I know in my parents days the number is like 20-30 years when things really break down but nowdays the things that we have dont seem to last like my parents days So how long before people usually redo their reno?

My shower glass has accumulated much water stain (visible when dry) over time. I tried various methods but failed to remove it. Can anyone kindly advise how to remove these stain or advise any service provider offers the cleaning services? Thank you.

I am not sure to get reno loan or personal loan... as I jus need abt 10k... some friends advising against taking a reno loan as it is inflexible and no early repayment options... some id told me they can get 2.88% for reno loan... im not sure if that's the EIR or otherwise... can anybody advise? will I be able to get reno loan if im not using id or contractor? confused...

Hi evryone, I just got a quotation from an interior designer and the total package quoted to me was $20,466.49. This exculdes the electrical works. Is the quote ok? Got a few other quotations that are like $35k, $26k and this was the cheapest. They are a small company and not so renowned, but the ID was efficent in sending me my amended quotes. Hi ShinChan, I bought my LED downlights from Choon Ying Trading for $30 per piece. They come with 1 year warranty. If you are adventurous enough, will suggest buying from TB or even from reputable shops in Malaysia as it is a lot cheaper than buying from Singapore based lighting shops. Only con is that they do not come with warranty or even if the Malaysia ones do, will have to make the trip in to exchange. There are various renotalk t-bloggers that provide the relevant info for them. Hope this helps

Hi, We just came back from the Home Show at Expo. We were looking around for mattresses and realised that all the sellers are not upfront about their prices. The selling price is not available and they simply quote a price (using a calculator), and subsequently reducing it to quickly try and close the deal. We decided not to buy because we do not know the market prices of the respective brands/mattresses. We are interested in the Vono Ergobed Luxury (King-Sized) and was quoted $2,498 (mattress only) and subsequently reduced to $2,298. Does anyone know the actual price of this mattress? and where is the best place to buy mattresses? I don't believe that the GSS/Expo Sale provides the best price.... (just my opinion).

Hi, Need some help here. My FSM said that the windows and glass door(leading to my balcony) in my Master bedroom is bad for my wife and I. He said the only way is to install some kind of feature or movable wall/partition to block the windows and door. anyone knows how this can be done and can recommend any good contractor/designer? i just bought a backcare simmons mattress also wah... felt so comfy.. my hubby and i loved it.. plus that feature of the negative ions thing... seems so far only backcare 3 and 4 series has it we bought a king sized mattress. eventually we chose backcare 4 backcare 4 is firmer than backcare3 but it has an additional layer on its mattress... so it feels firm and plush at the same time.. dunno how to describe it also..but very comfy... 2 thumbs up
