Now that we're almost halfway through 2023, we can start confidently reporting on the biggest trends from the interior design world. While we put out predictions at the end of 2022, we like to sit back and see what happens for a few months to see just how accurate we were.
For this year, it turns out we did pretty well. With that in mind, we've compiled some of our favorite trends 2023 has bought us. We hope to see these ones around for many years to come. What are your thoughts? Let's jump right in!
Sustainability
Unsurprisingly, sustainability has been a massive feature in interior design this year. With climate change at the forefront of everyone's mind, many designers consider it their job to lead the way when it comes to sustainability. After all, if the options aren't available, how can people use them?
There are various ways to use renewable energy to help power your home, but that's not the only way to be sustainable. Opt for renewable or recycled materials when outfitting your home. And if you haven't done it already, get started and install solar panels!
Warm Neutral Colors
The last few years have been dominated by cool greys and dark stony tones, and we are finally seeing a drastic shift with the welcome resurgence of warm colors! Well, warm neutrals, at least.
It's all about earthy tones that are designed to make us feel cozy and comfortable. You want your home to be a safe haven, and this is an excellent way of doing precisely that. And it's not a random choice, either; there's a whole field of psychology dedicated to the way color can affect us.
Head down to the paint store now and pack your basket full of warm, neutral colors - trust us, you won't regret it.
Shopping Independent
This one goes hand-in-hand with the sustainability choice - there has been a massive rise in people opting to buy from smaller, independent stores instead of big brands. And if you ask us, we think that's a fantastic idea!
While bigger brands will likely cost less money, shopping at those places mean your home likely won't have those unique or personalized touches that come with an independent purchase. Furthermore, buying independent means you are supporting real people who have likely made their products by hand and from scratch! We love that!
How Will You Transform Your Home?
What are your thoughts on these 2023 interior design trends? And which ones will you be implementing in your own homes? We love these ideas and hope they stick around beyond this year, especially because we've already made these changes to our places!
Keep up to date with all the interior design trends with us and find out how you can keep your home up-to-date and looking just as good as the day you bought it. So what are you waiting for? Getting upgrading your home to be sustainable, warm, and full of independent store purchases!
