This year, RenoTalk’s very own Only Home fair made a comeback on the 22nd to 25th of February due to popular demand. But this time round, it took on a completely different spin. The second installment was a cosy affair that embraced the laidback vibes of cafés - a comfortable space for friendly exchanges on anything to do with home renovation.
Toa Payoh Hub’s main atrium was buzzing with eager homeowners who arrived bright and early at 10am to check out what the various exhibitors had to offer. Charmingly adorned with photos and fanciful embellishments that match the theme, each booth showcased the identity of its respective company.
To jazz things up, our second fair included a new and exciting addition – RenoShoppe – a little retail booth that carried some of our favourite products. On display were home décor items and tableware like cute tingkats, vintage containers, and even premium coffee machines. Shoppers were also entitled to a 10% discount if they like RenoTalk’s FaceBook page!
Besides interior design firms, Only Home also included a wide range of vendors that covered many other aspects of home renovation; from flooring, gates, and even to digital door locks.
“After finding out about Only Home 2016 through RenoTalk’s Facebook page, my wife and I RSVPed to it immediately, and even received a complimentary goodie bag! As we are looking to renovate our home in the upcoming months, this one-stop fair is really useful in gathering all the information we need,” homeowner John expressed happily.
Another homeowner gave compliments to the beautifully spruced up event. Kumaran, who arrived with his wife and baby in tow, commended, “We were walking past the atrium when the whimsical décor from the booths caught our eyes. Aesthetics aside, the location is also good as it is convenient to get here, and the layout of the space is easy to navigate around. I like that I can have a feel of different interior design firms and get renovation quotes from them as opposed to visiting each on my own.”
In true spirit of the Lunar New Year, shoppers were even treated to a rousing performance by a lion dance troupe on the first day of Only Home. The atrium overflowed with eager onlookers even before the show started, and the entertainers received cheers from the enthusiastic crowd as they bantered around the perimeters of the fair. Much to the delight of everyone, the troupe also provided lucky numbers in the traditional form of mandarin oranges, rounding up the festivities with a bang.
The cherry on top was probably The Great Triple 8 Draw – A lucky draw that all shoppers could participate in with any purchase at the fair. And as its name suggests, the prize was an eye-catching amount of $888 in cold hard cash! Stay with us on social media to find out who the ultra lucky winner is!
