Halloween's just around the corner, so if you're planning on hosting a party at home, you're going to need some sort of decorations. Purchasing them is going to cost quite a bit, so here are some easy DIY suggestions.
1. Halloween Terrarium

It's not your typical Halloween decoration, but at least it's going to be eye-catching. For starters, grab a clear glass jar, or a few smaller ones instead if you'd like. It's as similar as creating a regular terrarium (we'd suggest moss as a primary plant choice for the occasion), except with a few Halloween elements.
Add ghoulish props like rubber spiders or plastic ghost figurines, then complete it with tiny coloured lights. If you feel all that green doesn't quite relate to the theme of Halloween, perhaps using a whole lot of soil and sand with a lone cactus perched in the middle might be better. Throw in skeleton lego figurines for an added kick too.
2. Paper Bag Lights

Gather a few brown paper bags of the same size. Using a circle puncher, create words on the bag that relate to the holiday. Some examples you can try are "Boo!" and "Ahh!". If you're able to, you can even cut out Halloween related images like pumpkins or witches.
When that's done, place LED tea lights in them, and a few rocks to anchor the bags down. Select an area of your home that's a little darker, placing the paper bags there. They're a great mood maker when you want to huddle together and share horror stories later in the night.
3. Mummy Jars

This one's a cute decoration, and great for a centrepiece. All you have to do is gather small jars of various sizes, and drape them with a white material. There are many kinds you can use, such as white mesh, gauze or even toilet paper carefully wrapped around.
Glue goggly eyes onto them afterwards to complete the look. If you'd like, paint a part of the jar black, and leave that area unwrapped. Paste the goggly eyes onto the black part instead for them to stand out.
4. Spider Ice Cubes

A great way to incorporate the Halloween spirit into even your beverages is by making spider ice cubes. These are incredibly easy to do, yet create such a creepy effect.
Purchase tiny plastic spiders at a party store, before placing them in your ice trays while you fill them up with water. You don't necessarily have to emerge them fully into the tray, if they're sticking out of the ice cube they'll look like they're crawling out of your cup. Also, you could wash the plastic toys first before dunking them into the ice trays as a hygienic precaution.
