Marble has definitely acquired a reputation of being the choice of material for the wealthy, of being a material only used in palatial homes of yore or in grand old sculptures made by Renaissance-era artists. To some, the stone feels outdated, even ancient. How can such a material have a place in a modern home, given that marble can sometimes be prohibitively expensive?
Marble is not at the risk of becoming extinct anytime soon, with modern homeowners and renovators reviving the usage of marble in their homes. The trick is to use marble in moderation; after all, you do not want your house to look like the inside of a mausoleum. Marble possesses the virtue of versatility, and is capable of blending in with almost every style of interior design.
This article will tell you all about the marble-ous you can incorporate marble into your abode.
Marble Furniture

While that may sound cold and hard, marble furniture is an excellent investment due to its sturdiness. This does not mean that ALL of your furniture must be of marble, because that would be too visually excessive. Having a single piece of marble furniture in every room (or one marble piece in the entire house, depending on how much you are willing to fork out) will add a sense of luxe into your décor. Marble furniture can be in the form of marble-top tables, kitchen counter tops, marble cabinets and marble bathtubs.
Marble Panels

Most commonly used in bathrooms, marble panels or panels with marble accents produce a striking effect, especially if the rest of your bathroom is not done up in marble. The gorgeous, clean lines of marble panels can also be used as a feature wall to encase your television.
Marble Statement Pieces

If you want to experiment with marble, but are afraid of committing fully to incorporating the element into your house, you can start out small-scale by investing in a few marble statement pieces. These can be in the form of marble statuettes in the living area or dining room, vintage-inspired lamp shades, or a lush marble basin.

Marble floors can make any room look regal, and can be beautifully juxtaposed against any modern décor style. However, do note that marble can get corroded if juice, paint or any other chemical liquid is spilled on it, so avoid the kitchen.
Marble Knickknacks

Use marble knickknacks to insert an element of surprise into your décor. You basically want people to go,”Wow, I was not expecting that to be made of marble!” Invest in marble or marble-inspired (if you are worried about a hefty price tag) piece that is least likely to be made of marble: think marble stationery holders, marble chopping boards, marble soap dishes, marble-inspired shoe boxes, marble candle-holders, and marble-inspired portable charger to name a few!
