Life Hacks- How To Organize Your Belongings

Have you gotten angry before upon seeing a messy bedroom?

It might be frustrating if you have to tidy up your room after a tiring day of study or work.

We totally understand your concerns so solutions are coming your way to rescue you from your messy room! Today, we will be listing out some effective methods for you in organising your personal belongings.

1. Keeping Your Clothes Neat

[TOPS]

-T-Shirts

T-shirts are the most common types of clothing and we believe that everyone should have at least three T-shirts. T-shirts do not have to go on clothes hangers so your wardrobe will look less cluttered.

Here is how you organise your T-shirts: fold or roll them properly (if you are having trouble with folding, you can get yourself a folding tool to assist you [refer to the image below]) and place them nicely inside the drawers of your cabinet. This will help you to save space and make your wardrobe look very tidy. Do ensure that you keep the patterns or logos of your T-shirts facing outwards so that it will be easier to identify which shirt is which.

- Coats & Dresses

Coats and dresses are straightforward when it comes to storing them, as they only need to be hung using clothes hangers to prevent them from ruffling up and help them retain their neatness. If you want to save more space, you may try using a tab of a soda can or a metal chain together with a few S-hooks to hang your clothes.

- Vests

With the help of curtain rings and a clothes hanger, you can hang a lot of vests together on one hanger.

- Inner wears

You can use a storage box that is divided into small partitions to organise your inner wears well, preventing them from piling up.

- Pants

To hang your pants neatly, you can go for curtain rings or S-hooks. S-hooks are a great way to hang your jeans.

- Shoes

If you have a dressing room, you may want to try the ‘front-back organising’, which is to put your shoes facing different sides on the shoe rack following the front-back sequence accordingly. This is so that you can have extra empty spaces on the rack to include more shoes. You can also use different racks or tools that are specially designed for different shoe types to help you in organising.

2. Keeping Your stationery Neat

To make your stationery look clean and tidy, you can get these few items to help:

- Transparent storage containers

Just like any other storage container, they help save a lot of space. The difference between the normal containers and the stationery-exclusive containers is just that the storage containers for stationery are much smaller and specially designed for stationery to be stored. You can make labels on the containers for categorizing and also put those rarely-used stationery in them.

- Double-storey racks

Small items like post-its, note pads, tapes, and others can be placed on the rack, but make sure you do not put too much of them on the rack or it will look crumpled and messy.

- Pencil holders

There are many different kinds of pencil holders in the market so you can browse and see which type suits you the most. We recommend the oblique-shaped pencil holder which is unique and can keep your stationery tidy. If you do not want to spend, you can just reuse materials and DIY your own pencil holder.

3. Keeping Your Accessories Neat

Keeping your accessories tidy is not difficult at all. All you need is a display rack to place your accessories. Here are some popular storage rack types for accessories which you may want to consider:

  • Ferris wheel earrings rack

  • 360-degrees spinning rack

  • Transparent nine-compartment containers

If you have more than one pair of sunglasses or caps, you may also use a rack or a storage box to keep them.

In a nutshell, a clean room has more benefits than a messy room. If you have a clean and tidy room, you will feel more comfortable and happier. It will also help you to sleep and rest well, which gives you energy and happiness for the day. So why not free up some time to organise your belongings and make your room spick and span?
